Looks like its going to be good. Has anyone heard about this yet? It seems that the title if off, in regards to the film's suggestive subject matter. Heard great things about it at the film festival.

Watched this last night. Its a great film, but I'm honestly surprised and happy to see this being recieved so well. I say surpised becuase this is easily the artiest vampire film if not horror film I've ever seen. There is blood, but its used very specifically and elegantly. Its not gratitous in anyway. Its also very leisurely paced. The scenes particuraly the ones between the boy and vampire girl and allowed to breath and proceed at a natural pace. Its also beautiful looking with great shots of the neighborhood being covered in snow.
Great movie but dont let the previews mislead. Its slow, subtle and very arty.

Its kind of like if Kubrick or PTA at his most Kubrickness decided they wanted to do a horror film they're way.

It looks brilliant. The trailer is amazing. Everyone and their mother says it's the best vampire movie in the universe. I haven't even heard a "pretty good" from anywhere. I've heard Bergman comparisons, and now chinton is mentioning Kubrick and PTA doing horror. The universal love this thing is getting is incredible. Needless to say, I CANNOT wait to see it. November 14 can't come soon enough.

I should also mention two other things.
The two child performances are fantastic. Completely believable in every way. In fact they are so good that the few adult characters that hover on the sidelines are outmatched.
Also the ending involving the swimming pool and the final coda really seal the deal. I loved the ending. It was perfect.

Although I found it to be a tad overrated, it's still a great film. Gorgeous cinematography, fine performances and an involving story focusing on the relationship between the two leads really separates this as one of the best horror films in recent memory.
I'm really looking forward to watching it again, mostly because the theater I watched it in screwed up the projection.

Well, judging by the reviews, this could well be as good as it looks. I haven't heard much in the way of a UK release, but I'll definitely be first in line if they do give us a date.

Hated it... thought the relationship between the two lead kiddies was a little TOO close and considering the 'companion' and how things pan out... just made me feel uneasy.
Same with the book to be honest and that explains more.

Just watched it and I liked it. Not as much as chinton along with a lot of other people, but it was still a great movie. I guess I'd give it an 8 or so.

Just finished it. Thought it was a fantastic movie. Everything that has been said is how I feel. The swimming pool scene is great.

I'm just glad to see good decent vampire stories after the fucking Anne Rice depression of the last few years. This flick is getting major raves, so i am looking forward to it.
