i don't think i have enjoyed watching an action film so much since the days of arnold. taken for the most part is freakin funny! old timer neeson shows these young twat action stars of the moment (ie statham) how to give a beat down with a bit of class. i always have my eye on action films produced by luc besson, usually set in france you know your going to get atleast a few cool action scenes for your buck. yes the first 20 minutes in taken is cringe inducingly bad and at times the film felt like a bourne movie and pretty much everything that wasn't action or neeson making bas ass threats was lame BUT aside from these minor issues taken is a blast!
i have watched this flick twice and i plan on checking it out later with the yo's on a couple joints so i can again laugh my ass off. it's my guilty pleasure for the year, beating babylon ad to the title and a breath of fresh air for someone like myself who constantly complains about the state of the action genre since arnie became the governator
