Anyone lately seen this Troma released DVD. It is worse than I remember but my question to everyone is.... Am I wrong to think that the music from this film is practically a direct rip off of Friday the 13th themes. No the "Ka Ka Ka, Ha Ha Ha" or however you spell it, but everything else. When not looking up at the screen, and only hearing the music, I really kept thinking I was watch F13 P3 or something. Anyone have thoughts on this. Blatant ripoff if you as me. Enough so that I would think that Henry Mancini could have sued.

Naw, i disagree. This movie was actually BETTER than I remembered. Really creepy, good and the weird sounds the monsters made when they died. It always stuck with me.

I remember this turkey from when USA network used to show low budget horror movies on Saturday afternoons that were hosted by Captain somebody. Had a few chilling moments, but they were lost in the low budget silliness.

I too seen it on Saturday Nightmares on USA, hosted by Captain USA and Lefty (2 eyes and a mouth drawn with cigar ashes on his left hand). I remember being freaked out a little when I seen it back then, guessing I would have been about 10, so that would have made it about 86. I watched it on dvd when it came out about a year or so ago and really enjoyed... but in a hokey cheesy fun kind of way. Creepy kids can be kind of freaky if done correcty, and this one definately delivered on that one.

Harry Manfredini (not Henry Mancini) scored both The Children and F13th the same year. He actually scored The Children before Friday the 13th. So..

I couldn't wait for the weekend so i could get my saturday afternoon commander usa fix , somehow he made cheese seem like an art form and made the films more enjoyable . I wanted to live in that mall basement that he was supposedly broadcasting from . I would have never even heard of some of these films , Children included ,if it wasn't for that show .

I saw the Children again about 4 years ago and it's still somewhat creepy but even more cheesy than i recall , i would say it still holds up quite well and i enjoyed the twist regarding how you dispose of them .

here's the CU intro to the Children :
