The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

This came out in the UK a couple of months back. It's excellent, and just missed my Top 10 list when I saw it. Very sad film, but very striking, and with yet another brilliant performance by Vera Farmiga.

Will JCVD open wide? Being a huge Van Damme fan myself, I'd LOVE to see that but I'll probably only be able to if it opens wide. It'll be nice to see him on the big screen again for a change!

Slumdog Millionaire and The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas also sound promising but again, I'll probably only be able to see them if they open wide. Otherwise, I'll have to wait for dvd.

JCVD opens limited, but hopefully it will expand in the following weeks. With all the praise it is getting, I'd imagine it will have a very high PTA in limited release which would probably lead to an expansion.

I don't know about Slumdog Millionaire (it opens in limited release), but I'll keep my fingers crossed. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas opens in limited release on the 7th, and goes wide on the 21st, we should be alright there. It has received stellar reviews, as has Slumdog Millionaire. Millionaire is at 100% on RT, while Pajamas is at 81% with most reviews saying it is very faithful to the novel which is a very good thing.

Not too much for me in the theatres, just the big releases mostly:

Role Models (11/7)
Quantum of Solace (11/14)
Bolt (11/21)
Transporter 3 (11/26)

and my g/f will probably drag me to Twilight and/or Austraila....i guess it could be worse =p

Waiting for video:

Soul Men
JCVD
Slumdog Millionaire
Milk

Slumdog Millionaire
Australia
JCVD

Quantum of Solace
Australia
Milk (it probably won't reach me til December, but it still counts for Nov.)
Slumdog Millionaire (same as above)

Out of those, I'm most excited about MILK. Not only is the cast excellent and the story compelling, it's also had the best trailer of the entire fall season.
