Here's a look at the Australian Box Office Top 20 for the weekend 27th - 30th June 2002

(1) (1) SCOOBY DOO
(2) (2) MINORITY REPORT
(3) (3) SPIDERMAN
(4) (6) SNOW DOGS
(5) (Debut) A WALK TO REMEMBER
(6) (9) SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON
(7) (5) I AM SAM
(8) (4) STAR WARS EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES
(9) (Preview Screening) BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM
(10) (7) CHARLOTTE GRAY
(11) (Debut) GHOST WORLD
(12) (10) SPACE STATION 3D
(13) (8) THE HEARD WORD
(14) (14) ITALIAN FOR BEGINNERS
(15) (15) MOLOKAI
(16) (13) GOSFORD PARK
(17) (12) LIFE AS A HOUSE
(18) (11) THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES
(19) (17) SHACKLETON'S ANTARTIC ADVENTURE
(20) (Debut) TOGETHER

I'm very disappointed in Snow Dogs moving its way up. I thought maybe Scooby would be overtaken by Minority Report but obviously not. I'm not surprised at Bend It Like Beckham, a british comedy, doing well on preview screenings as it's been great reviews and publicity. Ghost World did rather well first week and so did A Walk To Remember which I wasn't sure would make top 5.

GHOST WORLD just opened over there? :O

All the kiddie movies are taking the best spots with the holidays and stuff. What the hell is I AM SAM still doing in the top 10?

As interesting as usual! The top three films are the same as last weekend and Scooby-Doo seems to be having better legs than in its US release.

I see Snow Dogs still getting high. Even if it's summer kids could have SD or Spider-Man or AOTC. What's the story with this one. I'm thinking of giving it a chance, after all.

Interesting, too, is the preview screening of BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM. This was one big hit in the UK (it made more than 11 million pounds in there). And Charlotte Gray still in the top ten?? mmmm. so is the crappy I AM SAM.

Can't wait how would Lilo and Stitch perform in this charts. Do you know when it's coming out? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Obviously I AM SAM isn't a favourite, but oh well. I think Australia gets Lilo and Stitch around September. It should go well, i'm actually looking forward to it. Jedi, I think Bend It Like Beckham is going to go very well over here, well at least so far it does due to reviews and what not.

Btw, i've just noticed that Gosford Park is still on the charts. How many weeks it's been there. It seems to be doing well. I haven't seen it. But i think i'm going to it so soon when it opens here (2 weeks from now).

Gosford Park has done very well over here. It's been on the charts for 16 weeks. It debuted and peaked at 3 on the Box Office.
