I cannot fucking wait. With each album they get better and better and as fucking awesome and epic as Blood Mountain was, Crack the Skye should utterly fucking destroy.

No problem. I am the board's designated Mastodon fanboy after all. I've got a certificate for it somewhere...

I'm pumped for it, as they haven't disappointed yet. Hell, I was expecting Blood Mountain to be disappointing, but it more than delivered. I think my favorite is still Leviathan though. I actually prefer the slower Mastodon songs to the faster ones.

This made me smile. I'm really interested in what they'll bring to the table on this one. With each album they improve greatly, so I have high hopes. It'll be hard to top Blood Mountain but going by the bands track record, I'm pretty sure it'll be great.

The new Alternative Press has a part where they spoke to Mastodon about the album. I think it was Bill who likened it to being like an Oscar picture where you just are stunned and flabbergasted after it's over.

I can't believe it took me this long to realize, but this seems to be their first LP without an Elephant Man track at the end. Personally, I think this is a good omen, as while I enjoyed the previous closing tracks, I don't think there's any new ground to tread and I'd rather they just close with a strong, rocking song.
Also, I'd just like to say is there anybody who actually likes the hidden track on Blood Mountain? Please guys, don't pull that shit again.
