did anyone pick up this new release??

I have been a fan of Tenacious D since i first heard them fuckin YEARS ago, before their debut CD.

This new masterworks is bad ass:

Disc 1 has a complete concert, their biggest concert to date.. full band, it was amazing, great show.

Disc 2: has a GREAT, GREAT documentary on it, about them following the tour and the release and subsequent tank of the movie.

It isnt a glossy documentary, and it is great, esp when they delve into how the media and everyone seems to only worry about Jack Black cuz of his film stature, but they complete ignore Kyle Gass, who is amazing.

An amazing documentary about this hilarious band.. forget that Jack Black is in the band.. they are a fuckin amazing band!

Probably will order this tonight, I love this band, and have the first Masterworks. The Movie is one of the most most underrated of the decade. I LOVE that movie.

ya dude.. the movie was great... and in the documentary you get to see how much the box office failure of the flick really fucked with them. The documentary is truly great, on the level with Some Kind of Monster (Metallica's Documentary)

i think i heard JB was upset with the trailer to POD, b/c i remember being amped to see it, and the trailer was just awful. Awful to the point that i didnt go to see it, but ended up buying the dvd, and now everytime its on i watch it, love it.

Glad I'm not the only one that sees the SOME KIND OF MONSTER comparison (another truly brilliant documentary) with the new D doc. I wouldn't necessarily say it's as good as Metallica's movie, but it's structure very similarly. Seeing the real Jack Black and *especially* the real Kyle Gass was touching, sad, uplifting, and scary all at once. It's the highlight of the set, and I've watched it twice since I bought it.

Is the tour the latest tour? The one that was like a year or two ago... like a total Rock Panto :)

Gonna get it on Bluray when I get paid :)
