Oxy-moronic, I know. You're probably saying to yourself, "Jerk, there's no such thing". While the great folks of the UK have given us the greatest rock and roll ever made, funk is definitely not something most people think of when they think Brit-Rock.
That's why I say hail to The New Mastersounds.
These funky fucks from Leeds have been jamming live for almost ten years and have made quite a reputation for themselves on the jam-band circuit. Upon recently being turned onto their music I can't quit listening to them. (Try the streamed downloads from www.archive.org, particularly nasty).
