I'm not a fan, but you know Paramount will be flooding the market with re-releases, box sets and potential Blu-ray releases of everything STAR TREK related, in time for the new film.

i removed the URl link, cuz i also think it is spam... but we can still discuss the Trek DVD's in here, but the OP be warned, if another link appears in this thread, i will shut the thread down.

as far as the DVD's, i have the 20 disc 10 movie box set, got it last year for like 32 bucks. I havnt watched a single one yet, not a huge Trekker, but i will pry watch all 10 over the next few months to gear up for the new one

Anyhoo...

I, um, like the Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan Director's Cut DVD.

And it's only a matter of time before I pick up the OS remastered DVDs...oh yes, they will be mine.

After watching "Trekkies" 1&2 a few years back I was really curious about this little show called "Star Trek." I bought all three seasons of the original series and loved every second of them. Then I hopped on E-bay and bought the movies as well as the complete series of The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. I had no idea how great these shows really are (the character development in the latter series is surprisingly strong) and the stories are almost always entertaining (plus the alien makeup is just fun to look at). I just started season one of Voyager and it's not bad so far (although I hear it gets a lot better in the later seasons).

I've honestly never seen one episode of the series and had my first introduction to Star Trek seeing 'Generations' in theaters....it was weird and confusing.

That being said, I'm still looking forward to J.J.'s Trek.

generations wasnt that good if you want to see a good trek film you have to watch first contact, wrath of kahn, or nemisis

i think jjs trek will be a huge step in the right direction for the franchise maybe he can bridge the gap between star trek and star wars.

I'm a little hesitant in getting the the Star Trek movies DVDs because I don't like all of them, but I feel that if I get one, I need to get them all.

I'm a fan of the 2nd, 4th, and 6th . . . hell, even the 5th isn't too bad, but I don't like the 1st and 3rd much.

If I were you I'd get the collector's edition box set which contains all the movies (some with extended scenes that other editions don't have). Even if you don't like all the movies it's worth it for the deleted scenes, commentaries, cast interviews, Star Trek history, etc. I bought it about a year ago (having seen NONE of the films) and don't regret it in the least.

APprentice... to me, it does seem like you are pushing that site, pretty hard core, you have yet to have a post without a link to it. Which is SPAM... if you are questioning whether to buy the DVD's... if you have the money to buy them, and really want them, then YES you should buy them. The prices seemed fine, so get them igf you want them.

As for the thread, Apprentice, if you post one more link to that site, i will close this thread down.
