I don't know about you guys, but I really do love it when a sample is done right in rap music. I am talking when it is a highly recognizable beat, that you can spot right away. Sometimes they basically make a hip hop themed remake of the song... here are some of my favorites...

Of course one of the greatest right here

Run DMC feat. Aerosmith-Walk this Way

Wu Tang Clan- The Heart Gently Weeps (Samples The Beatles' While My Guitar Gently Weeps.)

Kanye West feat. Cam'Ron and Consequence- Gone (Samples Otis Redding's Too Late)

Talib Kweli- Lonely People (Samples The Beatles' Eleanor Rigby)

What are some of your favorites?

I'm still impressed to this day how well Naughty by Nature's O.P.P. sampled Jackson 5's ABC. Not the greatest rap song, but it's so well made and easy on the ears.

Blackstreet's No Diggity took a really sweet heartfelt about Bill Wither's grandmother (Grandma's Hands) and turned it into a down and dirty and very catchy rap number which makes me laugh.

The BEST though, in my opinion, is A Tribe Called Quest - Can I Kick It?. Both it and the original (Lou Reed - Walk on the Wild Side) are incredible.

It's a tough choice between "Walk This Way," "Rapper's Delight" and "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang." I'll give honorable mention to the use of "The Ballroom Blitz" in "Hey Ladies" by the Beastie Boys.
