Lightning's about to strike again! Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced today that they will be re-releasing the Back to the Future Trilogy on DVD this February as individually released editions. All three films will feature special foil packaging. The classic original film will be a two-disc special edition collection which also contains Back to the Future...The Ride, the infamous Leslie Nielsen special preview of Back to the Future Part II and the long-awaited documentary Looking Back to the Future!

Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III will also be released as single-disc editions, which will be basically the same discs contained inside the 2002 Boxed Set (yes, with the "V2" correct framing!).

i will def be buying the first flick... mainly for the inclusion of the Back to the Future ride! They replaced it at Universal with the simpsons ride,w hich is the exact same hting, with The Simpsons.. so im glad i can get back the BTTF ride!

I thought this was going to be the blu ray announcement, I'd be interested to see some of the new special features

Well glad I haven't picked up the other releases. I'll be getting these.

I'm at my breaking point with these re releases . It's just too much now . Even lesser films seem to be getting the multiple release treatment . I don't care that much about extras to want to purchase another version of BTTF . It wasn't that great . Most of these extras are superfluous , just another way for the studio to generate even more money with the same product .

Obviously these editions are for genuine diehards .

Just to mention, you can get the first DVD release of B2TF - the entire trilogy, starting at $16 NEW on Amazon ---- you can get it directly from Amazon for $22. That's all three movies.

Since I have yet to get the trilogy for some strange reason I'll wait to see what these get priced at/they're on sale. It'll be awesome to watch the Ride feature, I remember going on that when I was on holiday many many years ago.

It makes sense. They closed the ride at Universal and all the actors went back to shoot scenes for it. It was a hell of a lot of fun.

Cool. Good thing I held out for all this time. :p

I don't care much about the ride. It was mediocre, and I don't think I need to see it again. Especially since it won't be as entertaining without the spinning/shaking chair.

Once it comes out on Blu-Ray, the trilogy will be mine. I won't mind double-dipping.

The Power of Love music video on Back To The Future Part II special features ???
Shouldn't it be on Back To The Future ??????
I think releasing this box set is a scam as they've released the first box set.
