New Line Cinema has announced DVD ($28.98) and Blu-ray ($35.99) releases of Appaloosa which stars Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, Renee Zellweger, and Jeremy Irons. Each will be available to own from the 13th January. Extras will include commentary by director Ed Harris and Screenwriter Robert Knott, additional scenes with optional commentary, and 4 featurettes (Bringing the Characters of Appaloosa to Life, Historic Accuracy of Appaloosa, The Town of Appaloosa, Dean Semler's Return to the Western).

I thought this looked great, so I will be picking it up.

Definite buy for me! This is one of my favorite movies of the year.

I'll probably pick this up. I'm not rushing out to buy it. It was good, though. A sort of offbeat western which was interesting; had a strange sense of humor. But it solidified one thing: Viggo Mortensen, Ed Harris, and Jeremy Irons are not actors. They are Professional Bad Asses.

I don't like when DVDs contain both full and wide versions, though. I feel like when VHS died, so should have Full Screen.
