Romantic Drama starring Meryl Streep as a lonely housewife who develops a short affair with Photographer Robert (Clint Eastwood) after he arrives into town looking to take pictures of some bridges. With the husband and children out of town, the loneliness really hits Francesca hard and the arrival of Robert leaves her wondering if she is really ready for the quiet and boring life.
The story is uncovered by Francesca Johnson's (Streep) children after her death.

I thought it was a good story. I never read the book or whatever. But I really enjoyed this movie despite it's length. It's a long and slow movie, but Streep gives such a good performance also. Clint gives a decent performance also. The movie does hurt at some points when the movie goes away from Streep/Eastwood. Which isn't very often, but sometimes it did almost pull me out of the movie.
It's a simple story, but the two leads make it interesting and unforgettable. It's not a movie I could watch everyday, but I really admire it and I'm sorry I waited all these years to see it (I have it on VHS).
