While My Guitar Gently Weeps- The Beatles
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the 2nd to last song on the first side of the record of the White Album or something close to that? I do know that it's definitely not the first on the Album because that belongs to 'Back in USSR.'
To transition, this leads me to my personal favorite of Come Together on Abbey Road.
A few other favs:
Baba O'Riley - The Who, Who's Next
Don't Stop Till You Get Enough - Michael Jackson, Off the Wall
Wouldn't it Be Nice - The Beach Boys, Pet Sounds
Movin' Out - Billy Joel, The Stranger
Just Like Starting Over - John Lennon, Double Fantasy
Death on Two Legs - Queen, A Night at the Opera

The Boy in the Bubble from Graceland and The Obvious Child from The Rhythm of the Saints, both by Paul Simon.
I'd also like to, somewhat cheaply, add Iron Maiden's Paschendale because it's the first track on The Essential Iron Maiden. "In a foreign field he lay..."

"Break On Thru (To The Other Side)"- The Doors
Debaser - Pixies (Doolittle)
These both came immediately to mind, in that order.
Really no point in me mentioning any of the other ones I like since they've already been brought up list-style, and I'd just be repeating. I have a relatively large record collection, so I could make a pretty extensive list that would be only of interest to show how many different songs I'm privy to.

Nice picks. But for Nightwish, I'd go with "She is My Sin;" Savatage would be "Of Rage and War;" Iced Earth would have to be "Wolf." I love "The Book of Heavy Metal" - that rare breed of metal song that actually made me LOL (..."To be or not to be in the Book of Heavy Metal!")

All great songs as well. Savatage was a hard choice for me. With Nightwish though, Wishmaster was my least favorite album, something about it I just don't like as much as others, still a good album though. And yeah, Book of Heavy Metal is very LOL, its so awesome though, the second I bought that album and put it on, when I heard "METTTAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!" I just knew I was in for a treat.
Sonata Arctica - Weballergy
Demons & Wizards - Heaven Denies
Primal Fear - Black Sun
Gamma Ray - Beyond the Black Hole
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Also great choices. With demons & wizards I probably would have picked Crimson King over Heaven Denies, but I do prefer the self-titled waaaay more than the second album.
