Whether it's the Underworld ones or not, who do you (seriously or humorously) think would win a real battle between horror film vampires
and werewolves and why do you think so.

It depends on which rules were followed and also which wolves were involved. An army of AWIL wolves wouldnt be tough for vamps like the ones in Underworld to defeat. But the WW's in Dog Soliders would be tough for any vamp to defeat. Radu, the vamp, in Subspecies has black magic powers. So he could handle quite a few ww's himself. Some vamps have superstrength, while others are just humans cursed with vampirism. Werewolves are more viscious but vampires can fly. So its a toss up from me.

Hand to hand I would give the edge to the werewolves but if weapons were being used I'd take the vampires because you really don't see any werewolves wielding any weapons with those big old paws.

Werewolves: Because they're big, and hairy, and have teeth and claws!

Yup.

There's far too many versions of each creature to just ultimately decide which will win, unless we combine all the abilities from every single version of the creatures into one super werewolf and one super vampire and have them duke it out in a steel cage match.

I'd pay for that PPV.

What we need to do is come up with the most generic form of each creature...and then decide.

The most generic form of each creature? That's easy.

I'd say Drac in that fight. Hes alot older and has fighting experiance. Plus he can change into a bat to escape tight situations. They fought for awhile in Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstien. In the end the Wolfman grabbed Dracula in bat form and they fell into a bay.

Then if we're taking Wolfman and the original Dracula, I would say that would be a close match, but Dracula is the more intelligent of the two and would probably win. Sorry WoofWoof Man. :(

Taking the modern werewolf (Big hairy, claws, teeth, walk on all fours), and the modern vampire (pale-faced, questionable sexuality, sparkles and glitter thus causing tweenage girls to swoon over them.), then it would be undoubtedly the Lycanthrope though. :D

The vampires in 30 Days Of Night were pretty bad assed! They had the claws and everything. But i still think a werewolf might win because they'er Friggin Animals!!!! I don't care how smart i am i ain't climbing into a lion cage! But if weapons are involved... Vampire.
