So alright I've gotten through His Name Was Jason.... and three of the main Heroines all said the same thing, that they would come back for one final battle, a triad of these women to take on a threat that is now after their kids.
Well lets face it, they could all be mothers now...
Sounds like a fantastic idea so WHY are we getting a remake? :)

They'd have to ignore Jason X the way FVJ did, since Jason ends up on Earth2, where the survivors obviously arn't there...
And 3 older women as the leads in a Friday movie? Hey, being a fan of the series, I'd be up for it considering who they are, but a remake works better in the favour of the general audience. People wanna see young naked teens having sex, drinking and doing drugs while getting slaughtered...
What I'd like to see is more Tommy Jarvis story, or they should at least bring him back for the remake but as a Crazy Ralph type character, that would be awesome, crazy Tommy :D

I think the older broads could work... teens of their own.. Psychic Tina now runs Camp Crystal lake making sure Jason stays in the lake BUT something stirs him from his slumber... an accident on the lake involving the son of one of the others survivors... his blood stirs the beast.... Forcing his mother to come down to the camp, it's not until she turns into the camp and sees the lake that she begins to realise the terrible mistake she's made in sendin her boy there....
or something....

I don't care so much about having returning characters. As far as I'm concerned Alice is DEAD so I don't know how Adrienne King would plan on that working out. We haven't had a returning character aside from JASON in over twenty years and I don't think it's hurt the franchise any. Besides the studio would never release a movie based on what the true fans want so I wouldn't bother thinking about it anyway. If they did listen KANE HODDER would have been in FREDDY vs JASON and Kelly Rowland would have never been cast. Still have a sour taste in my mouth over that...
Anywho, I'll be moving this to the Franchise forum.
Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Oh no TK!!!
I thought Kelly Rowland did REALLY well compared to the rest of the casting, in fact the casting fella should be shot for the selctions made in that film!!!
BUt Rowland for me was better than any of the other main characters in the piece especially towards the end :D

Monica Keena did great :D
Kelly Rowland...not so much...

To be fair I didn't think either one of them did all that great but at least I didn't find Keena distracting in the sense that I kept thinking that she was a singer who was basically brought in to win over more of an audience. The one person who really impressed me in F vs J was Brendan Fletcher... Did I just hear g1ng3r snap? Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Yes, but who would you use? An older Corey Feldman(this could definitely work)? John Shepherd(Part V)? Or Thom Matthews(Part VI)?
Personally I gotta go with John Shepherd. That guy had post-traumatic stress down pat!!!!!

I really liked Thom Mathews as Tommy, and I hate to admit this, but I'm a Feldman fan (and Haim fan for that matter) so I would love to see him back in the role...

I'm somewhat of a Feldman(and Haim) fan myself. Don't feel ashamed. :)
Thom Matthews was a lot of fun; but too sane I think.
Johnny Boy or Corey could truly deliver the goods though; especially with a storyline all these years later where the character would kinda have to be, well cracked.

:D And did you check out the Nightmare9 Thread yet, btw?
In all honesty though, I'm not so sure that this would work so well. I mean, they're grown up, and let's be honest: the F13 Franchise was all about young adults having sex and getting slaughtered. From what I remember, they've all lost their sex-appeal, and you know that if it was just them three, then we wouldn't have such a big body-count 'eh?
With that said, I would much prefer this over a remake.

I wondered that when I watched His Name Was Jason as well, teen. Alice is dead; if they were going to pick three survivors to come back and face Jason, Tommy should definitely be included instead of a character who was ice picked in the head over twenty years ago.
But then, maybe Alice didn't die, and she's living the high life in seclusion after the Law Offices of Sheldon P. Finklestein got her a three million dollar settlement from Frigidaire. ;)

The only way I believe to get the past survivors back into the franchise would be to do a "documentary" style piece on Camp Crystal Lake. A documentary team consisting of your younger actors (bring on the sex, drugs and fodder), and the survivors who are being interviewed about their experiences.
Bring in Jason, wipe out the doco team and then start picking off the survivors 1 by 1.
Adrienne King cannot come back as Alice, however, they can pull a swifty and have her play Alice's sister (insert name here) who is trying to uncover/find Alice's killer.
I'd be trying to get all of the survivors back, or at least the female survivors. This idea will also have to ignore "Jason X" as there is no way these survivors will be around in 2000 years time (or however long it was).
I'd pay to see this... Hell I'd pay to see the survivors in a new movie any way they decide to do it.

Oh shit...I had a similarly great idea for a F13 Survivors Sequel...I'll search for it in the archives! HaHaHa!
Since there are 13 survivors from all eight [pre-Jason X] Friday The 13th sequels (including Amy Steel, Dana Kimmell, Corey Feldman, Kimberly Beck, Melanie Kinnaman, Shavar Ross, Jennifer Cooke, Lar Park Lincoln, Kevin Spirtas, Jensen Daggett, Scott Reeves, John D. LeMay and Kari Keegan), a great idea for a sequel would be for the survivors to return to Camp Crystal Lake as part of a group therapy session for near-victims of mass murderers. One by one, they are killed off in stylishly gruesome manners (with old school makeup FX). Instead of Jason being the killer, one of these survivors could be suffering from a severe case of psychosis brought about by post-traumatic stress disorder or survivor's guilt (my money would be on Feldman's creepy Tommy character, and it would be worth the price of admission to see Amy Steel kick his drug-addicted ass!). Hey, its a helluva lot better than “Jason In Space”! And Adrienne King could guest star in a dual role cameo as the group's psychiatrist, “Dr. Palmer”.

And since there were three actors who played Tommy Jarvis, I combined them as one survivor instead of three separate heroes & automatically chose Corey Feldman b/c he's the most recognizable of the trio (I haven't seen the other two since).

Sidebar II: since Dana Kimmell found Jesus & has denounced her early career as a Scream Queen...the role could either be recast, or her Chris character could have a daughter or even a son who travels with the rest of the Jasonites in her stead (maybe she could be killed off in a car crash like Laurie Strode presumably was in Halloween 4). The possibilities are endless with or without the original actors!

The bravado in FVJ is what cracks me up. A bunch of high school kids, standing tall against not one, but two unkillable psychopaths. One of which they watch annihilate no less than eight people in the middle of a rave.

As far as I'm concerned with Friday the 13th, just put a machete in it, it's done.
