If Paramount is so "ashamed" of the F13th films they were involved with why don't they sell off everything F13th they own? (To someone who has the guts to release the uncut versions on DVD and BD) And why are they involved with the Part I re-make if they're so "ashamed"?

Yeah, it's no secret that Paramount has always been not so secretly ashamed of the franchise. But ashamed or no, Paramount isn't completely stupid. They know that that franchise alone brought in millions of dollars for the studio and that the fanbase is strong enough for them to continue to milk the franchise via multiple home video releases.

As far as their involvement in the remake is concerned, the only reason they had to get involved was because of certain story elements (recreating the ending of part 1, for example) and New Line did not have the legal right to do so.
