So as some of you may know, I consider myself the arch-nemesis of platinum dunes film company that remakes every Horror film that I love. (With the exception of Halloween. Apparently they were going to remake that, and then Rob Zombie picked up the rights. Go Rob! :p) Anyways, I've been harassing them online for quite some time now, about two or three weeks, and finally platinum dunes has made a response to me in their latest blog.

On a side not, here is something that really pisses me off. As you know, I read everything so I can truly give our audience what they are looking for in our films. We all know that we can't make everyone happy, but we can at least process the information and see how we can use it. That is why I read every review of the film. Now, I never expect to get good reviews on any of our films, although the New York Times has been favorable to us. The reviews for this film were mostly horrible which is fine, but something was written that really bothered me. Some reviews said that we only made this movie for the money. My lifelong dream was to be a movie producer and I have been a lifelong horror fan so I love my job, but I wouldn't do it for free. In the same way that the reviewers who tear our movies apart don't write their stupid reviews for free. So to say that we do what we do for the money is just as stupid as saying that our movie isn't scary or that is looks horrible.

Ha!! Now I'm off to respond to this, and accuse them once again of only remaking films for cash! :D

EDIT: On a re-read, he says 'reviews' so he may be referring to posters other than me. Which would be quite fine with me, the more insulting pd the merrier! :)

That's pretty cool that they do read what the fans have to say. I have no beef with Platinum Dunes

They gotta stick up for their product, I enjoyed most of what they've put out.

Seems kind of pointless. Modern remakes are dumb, but if the guy is taking the time to respond to fans, you have to respect him. Use that energy for something more productive.

I'm gonna have to go with countchocula on this one. The respect issue. Although it is a testament to your ability to get under somebody's skin, :D I really don't think it's worth it. I mean, who doesn't want to get paid for their work? I know if I didn't get paid for the hard work that I do, I would be more than a little pissed off.

My point is that there is a line and they have crossed it, so I punish them for doing so. :D

In all fairness, I do think it is rather kewl that they read everybody's comments for their films. Too bad they don't actually take their advice though.

And in all fairness, I don't believe you can truly argue that they don't take their advice. Since you are boycotting the Friday flick, your argument(in part) is a bit misinformed. Not saying your wrong. Or right. I'm just saying that you can't really say that they don't take advice. I lost count how many nods they made to Friday fans in the movie.

And I know that you can easily argue that they aren't taking the advice not to make the flicks. I can agree with you there. But the advice given to them from the fans as in what they expect from the movie was indeed listened to. Would they be able to please everyone? No. No one can. But they did give out a great movie. Pure and simple.

And if you REALLY wanna get into it, I can tell you just how well the new Nightmare on Elm Street flick can have the potential to blow all the other ones away(except the original). ;):p Of course I won't do that though, because we already agreed to disagree. :D

That's good, because a broken treaty is a broken friendship my friend. (Just kidding!) :p

I have seen all of their other films up until the Unborn, so I wouldn't say that I'm completely knowledgeless to their work.

I will keep that in mind! :P

I never said that you are completely in the dark. I said that you are in part. And what I meant by that is that you can't truly say they didn't take fans' advice to the new F13 movie, as such that if you actually watched it, you might like it.

Ya know what I find hilarious? a few weeks ago you were ready to give up, but now you won't even give a GOOD horror movie a shot. Snob! (just kidding) :D

And I do know your reasons, even if it won't change anything. :P

I don't even care about it anymore, it's pointless. If you don't want to see it then don't see it. There's really nothing else to say about it that is going to make them stop re-making films; especially when they are pulling in $42 Million opening. It's like watching third graders telling on each other for punching one another.

Honestly dude, when he says he is getting bashed by people saying he did it for the money....he's definitely talking about the critics who are bashing the film. There is nothing in that article that hints that he is bashing on fanboys like us who troll movie blog forums. Like that turd would even take the time to troll boards anyway, that would mean he'd actually know what we want in a remake not what he wants as a "fan". Just in case he is reading though, GO FUCK YOURSELF RAPE ARTIST!

Wow Evil Ed, I do believe that this is one of the first times that we have agreed on something. On a re-read, I do believe that he was referring to critics. Though I think it's great that I'm not the only person who feels this way.

I also know that my Posts on there have little effect over platinum dunes' minds, but it helps relieve a lot of steam. You guys should try it sometime: You'r gf dumped you? Lost your job? Pet died? Well I have the perfect stress reliever for you! Go on down to platinum dunes' Blog-Site, a division of BloodDisguisting.com, and type up the nastiest putdowns that your sick minds can think of! :D

A film maker and production company actually takes the time out of their day to listen to their fans, respond to their fans and actually engage in conversation with their fans and your choice given that situation is to harass them for a movie they haven't even really shown us anything for yet and thus you haven't seen much to even form an opinion on?

I don't know about that. Seems kind of pointless to me. I agree with CountChocula on this one. Respect should be key here.

Yeah, and Sean Penn was referring to my comments in the political forums during his Oscar speech.
