Sci-Fi's Dune was enjoyable, though I wish they would do one more movie from God Emporer Dune to kind of close it off, but oh well. Dinotopia was OK, it was nice to see Dinosaurs, and there was a cool one in the 80's called AmeriKa, where Russia took over the united states. Been decades since I've seen it though.

And I love those Steven King mini's like Salem's Lot and The Stand.

While I wouldn't really call it a miniseries since it was re-edited for cinemas and festival competition, The Best of Youth does it for me. It's one of the most absorbing film experiences I've ever had and one of, if not THE best film of the decade.

Band of Brothers
I also liked Generation Kill, The Kill Point, John Adams, I guess Afro Samurai was a miniseries?

Does a 2 part TV movie count as a miniseries.....seems like a fine line in definition but theres a couple of those that I could throw in as well like Covert One: The Hades Factor and XIII

I'm going to have to assume you count mini-series that turn into actual shows, because: Battlestar Galactica.

No love for John Adams? FUCK if that wasn't the best period/history production I've ever seen. Comprehensive, accurate, fascinating, and with the top notch acting and technical stuff (costume/set design, cinematography, etc) to boot.

But even John Adams is just a close second to the indescribably phenomenal Band of Brothers.

Seconded.

The only things I can compare Ron Moore's BSG mini-series to is Blade Runner and Children of Men as those are the only other pieces of cinematic science fiction that with the opening shots so completely introduce their world and envelope you. Every actor is spot on, the script is tight, the drama is heart wrenching and, aside from setting up the greatest television series ever, it's the only mini-series I know of that viewership went up on night two instead of staying even or going down.

Great job, hun, now you made me want the complete series Blu-Ray even more. :p
