Has anyone here ever sold a script? Also how many complete scripts have any of you written? And how long does it take for you to knock one out??
Just curious.

Utuk Xul,
Attempted one sale of two scripts back in 1987. No sale made, have'nt made another submission since. Basically what I've been doing all these years (besides working
'regular' jobs) is writing scripts, and mostly short stories, but nobody has read them. I guess I'm writing for myself now. Sorta strange probably, but that's what I've been doing.

I haven't sold any, and not sure how many writers here have. I did come across an interesting statistic that KINDA relates to this.... the average writer completes NINE feature length screenplays before making his/her first sale.
EGADS!

9!! Egads is right. But screenwriting is a numbers game. I guess alot of submissions couldn't hurt.

Hi, I'm Andrew O'Brien AKA OBzilla. I started to right a book called Till death Do us part at about 14 which was about triplets one of which was the son of god, the other the son of the devil and the other just normal, it was pretty cool but I was writing too immaturely and I sacked it off to work on a screenplay versoin instead. Halfway through the screenplay I realised there was no point to me writing it since I want to direct films and would never direct it because it was way to effects heavy and would require a massive budget. So I canned that idea. I started working on scripting short films, the first of which I called Lost Love which I wrote after my heart was broken and is pretty cool, Now I'm writing a short called de ja vu and a feature length called Trojan, both of which are taking ages due to my enjoyment of procrastination (20 pages into featurelength after almost 1.5 yrs). Anyway I hope to film de ja vu or lost love over the coming months as I have plenty of time off from school while I wait to go to uni.
When I go to uni I'm going to study film and media production so hopefully I'll get into film on the technical side then brown tongue my way up to director.
