My faves of his worx:
5. Romancing the Stone - Right now I'm romancing my stone, at this very moment. I'm posting this using only one hand.
4. Who Framed Roger Rabbit - A real life cartoon picture. And Jessica Rabbit is hot. I mean,
as far as something that is drawn.
3. Back to the Future - 'Ey, it's that's one dude from Family Ties teaming up with that one other dude from Taxi & that one chick from Howard The Duck.

2. Forrest Gump - After watching this film, I was so inspired, that I decided, on a whim, to go running all the way across the country. However, by the time I got to the end of my block, I got so devastatingly winded, & I was weezing so desperately for air, that I thought for sure, my left lung had collapsed in on itself.
So, instead, I just reminded myself that "stupid is as stupid does", & went back into my house & ate an entire "box of chawk-letts".
Which, of course, is what life is kinda like.

1. Contact - For my money, Contact contains some of the best discussions of religion & atheism in any film ever made. It's depictions of the manner that things like general fear & politics can get in the way of a true quest for knowledge is both basely intelligent & comprehendibly poignant. This film's plot does a great job treading on the subject of how our society is constantly struggling between the comfort of what we already know & the confrontational truths about our species that can be revealed as result of the discovery of what is new, especially if seen thru the "eyes" of a life-form that's a lot smarter than us.

Back to the Future, followed closely by Contact and Cast Away.
What Lies Beneath isn't a good film per se, but it is a guilty pleasure. Trashy, I hate myself for watching it, but it does have a modicum of cheap thrills.
Forrest Gump is a shit film that gets worse every time I see it.

Really close call between Contact and Romancing the Stone, but I went with Contact because it's a little bit heavier.
Also really liked Beowulf, Cast Away, Gump, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Great director.

Like some other people around here, Robert Zemeckis is, or at least USED to be before his whole motion capture phase, one of my all-time favourite directors. The man just, plain and simple, knew how to make a movie: All of his movies managed to find the perfect balance between being irresistably and instantly entertaining but also thoughtful and, well, just plain good. He's one of the few directors (others being Spielberg, PT Anderson and the Coens) that has more than one perfect, 10/10 rated movie from me, and for that he deserves some love. For me it was also a very close call between Forrest Gump and Contact, because both are utter and total masterpieces and two of the best movies of the 90's, not to mention of all time, but in the end, I would give Forrest Gump a slight edge over Contact, just because of its importance in my life - the first time I saw it was when I was 7 or 8 and I've seen it so many times since then, and each time I notice something new. It's an amazing, perfect movie. Anyway, Zemeckis top 5:
1. Forrest Gump - 10/10
2. Contact - 10/10
3. Cast Away - 9/10
4. Back to the Future - 9/10
5. Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - 9/10

I voted Cast Away because it is the only Robert Zemekis film that I have seen in its entirety. I have seen the last hour of Forrest Gump and intend on watching the Back to the Future Trilogy though.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Back To The Future is great fun.
Forrest Gump is a great steaming turd of a film - the only way I would vote it top in any poll is if we were voting for the most overrated film of all time.
