Disneynature is coming out with a cool documentary called Earth. Apparently it takes original footage and footage from Plant Earth and follows a family or polar bears, elephants and whales. I'm pretty interested in this stuff, especially after loving Plant Earth, might have to check this one out. Any thoughts on the trailer (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809427488/trailer)?

I was really confused when I first saw it. Isn't this just Planet Earth cut down to a movie?

What's the point?

Glad to see Disney getting back into the nature documentary business. Their old-school nature documentaries (there was a whole series of them narrated by Walt himself) help mold me into the nature buff I am today (and have been since the age of 4).

I'm excited about this, but I am more excited about that ocean life documentary they have lined up, I believe, for next year. Being an avid snorkeler and occassional kayaker (at my vacation home in Florida, not my normal home in Ohio), I absolutely love learning about ocean animals.

BTW, BananaDancer, what was your favorite part of Planet Earth? I liked the episodes about oceans, fresh water, and caves.

I already have the series on DVD, for awhile now, but I wouldn't mind seeing this in IMAX.
