I absolutely loved the first two movies ! I thought Hellboy II was one of the best movies last year , but it didn't do as good at the box office as they hoped it would do.
Any news about a third part ?

I hope there is a third Hellboy movie. Although I'm not as enthusiastic as most people were on the first two, I really want a third one especially after the prophecy that was mentioned about Hellboy. If that is what Hellboy 3 is about then it has the potential to be really truly awesome. I hope they go in that direction.

I love Ron Perlman and Del Toro as well but the Hellboy movies have just not been as good as I hoped they would be. I am not dying for a third but if it happens I will give it a shot and hope it was better than part 2 anyway.

I hope so, but Del Toro is tied up for a few years on The Hobbit.

that and I think Universal will be hesisant to pay him a large amount of money to do it because Hellboy II wasn't exactly a smash hit. I think it all lies on the Hobbit for this film to happen.

Haven't heard any news about it being a possibility since 2 was released, I loved both movies and would be all over another if Del Toro and Perlman return.

I hope there is, but not for several years. I like the current Hell Boy (Ron Pearlman) and that is it. Even del Toro needs to go. This is a great concept and there needs to be a good story to go with it. I like del Toro, but he seems too consumed with cool monsters than a great story. The Golden Army was a major disappointment to me
I hope there will be, Hellboy II was amazing, and JUST missed my top 10 last year, plus the hints dropped at the end of The Golden Army make the next movie sound astounding. Guillermo Del Toro is a genius, and I'll watch anything he makes, but I really hope this is on his to do list.

I would love to see Hellboy 3, but I have a feeling that it won't happen.

I want it to happen. Del Toro already mentioned he had an idea/platform for a 3rd movie. That being he'd essentially have Hellboy take on the Universal Movie Monsters (Dracula, The Wolfman, Frankenstein, etc...)
Not sure how he could incorporate that into the Hellboy canon but dammit, I love this idea. :)
Probably not going to happen for awhile

it is coming out in late 2012
That's interesting...I hope Guillermo is doing it along with the rest of the cast.

I hope so, but only if Guillermo del Toro and Ron Pearlman both return...what a team! I haven't seen the first movie, but loved the second when I saw it in theaters. I was surprised to see that it ended up being one of the funnier movies of the year, which says a lot about my thoughts on most "hip" comedies these days. :p It would be really interesting to see Hellboy take on the Universal monsters, and I think that we all know del Toro is the man that can pull it off!

Del Toro has like a million projects on his slate, including the still in-development Hobbit movies. I'd like to see a third Hellboy flick. I didn't think the first two movies were brilliant or anything, but they were fun to watch and sit through. If they're improved upon just a little, then it'll be worth it.

Maybe in a few years, but I don't care if there is. It's been such a forgettable franchise IMO

Hellboy 2 surprised the hell out of me, so I'm definitely down for a 3rd one!

So, I posted this in "The Hobbit" thread too, but I thought I'd pimp this one too. Sadly, it's not good news. Basically, the chunk you need to read about Hellboy 3 is:
Hellboy 3 is unlikely due to Ron Perlman being averse to wearing the prosthetics again.
What the hell? Why would Pearlman say no? I know he's getting older, but Hellboy is his titular character. It's his Riddick, Rambo, Iron Man, only... more... hellish.

Because by the time those stupid Hobbit movies are done, Pearlman will be 65 years old.

Really? I remember an interview where i thought Pearlman said he loved playing the character and did not mind the makeup at all.
I thought the first movie was more solid, but part 2 has such totaly wild imagination to it that i couldn't help but respect it despite the plot holes.

Being in his 60's did not stop Stallone from pulling out another Rambo AND Rocky and looking in better shape than ever. Age is just a number. Pearlman is the man and could easily pull it off if he wanted to!
The JoBlo's latest movie show had a brief interview with Pearlman about Hellboy. I cant quote it exactly but he said that Del Toro has an idea for a third installment and he would be willing to play the part again if ever Del Toro gets time
It won't matter how old he gets...makeup does wonders

I think in time we'll get another one and Perlman will be up for it, well at least I sure hope so...

I was actually disappointed in the second one, never understood why it got more love than the first one. Definitely bring on number three though.

I think Hellboy is one of the best comic book franchises we have. Guillermo Del Toro is a terrific director, I'm sure he could pull off a great trilogy where great directors such as Sam Raimi have failed.

I liked Hellboy, but thought Hellboy II was basically Blade II just with different characters. Del Toro should go off and do other things on his plate.

I love Hellboy series. Its some of the funnest films made lately. Ron Perlman is easily the most perfect cast actor in any role ever. I would hate to see the series die.
And even though I would love to see Del Toro make other stuff, because he is quite the talent, I'd rather he was working on Hellboy than back to back Hobbit movies.
