The trailer is here, baby: http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/15603
:D;):p
The story finds Korea's leading man, Song Kang-ho (The Host), as a much-loved priest who becomes a vampire after a failed medical experiment; he becomes a tortured and depraved soul.
So I guess this is the first thread for this bad boy?

First it was Let The Right One In and now this. Chan Wook Park is back and the trailer for his upcoming film looks great. Not like the shitfest entitled Twilight.

First thread in the non-horror section. :p
I'm excited for this. I love Park Chan-wook. I haven't seen nearly enough with Song Kang-ho. Looks spiffy.

Yeah I just watched the trailer and I am looking forward to seeing how Park Chan Wook's Thirst plays out......Maybe he'll get on a horror kick and do a werewolf film or better yet (as I have stated in a previous thread for this film) I would love to see his take on the zombie genre

Someone only posted these down as the captions for the Voice over.
'You shall not murder.'
'You shall not commit adultery.'
'You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.'
'Bloodlust disturbs his soul.'
last line : Vampires aren't immortal. Do you still want my blood?

Count me in, Park Chan-Wook is a great director. I love his attention to detail in his visuals but also his concentration on story and character. He's one of my favorite directors working today.

A teaser poster for Park Chan-wook's Thirst has kicked up a shirtstorm of controversy over in Korea.
The image you see on the left - the ad campaign selected for the film - was banned because of its "sexual context." South Korea's Media Rating Board didn't care for it, no sir. You see, Song Kang-ho plays a priest-turned-vamp. So there's a religious angle, too. And when you toss a lovely gal chokin' a man of the cloth, well, some folks get a bit touchy.
The film is entitled "Bat" overseas, so the poster's creators were going for bat-like symbolism with the placement of the characters. Thirst, which was co-financed by Universal, is due for release in South Korea on April 30th.
According to Variety, the production team still plans to use the poster as key artwork for marketing outside Korea.
Spread em baby! To be honest, I kinda like the revised version more.

I agree. The first one looks like a bad photoshop job...

Well, the original poster looks a little goofy. However, I find the second one rather disturbing and creepy, since it isn't apparent what's going on. It went from being sexual in a humorous way to being sexual in a somewhat unpleasant way… if the second one is even sexual anymore. I’ve been looking at it for a few minutes now and I’m still not sure what it means… it’s like a double-headed caterpillar or CatDog.

It's funny how big of a difference the presence of the legs makes on the impression of the poster.

I wonder if Park knows how much of a following he has in the western wild.
Yeah I'm looking forward to this. The trailer didn't really jack me up, but I'm still hopeful.

Trailer: "Oldboy" Director's "Thirst" Film:
Korean director Park Chan-Wook, who is known for his vengeance trilogy (Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance), is looking to release his new vampire thriller called "Thirst" in South Korean theaters on April 30th. And today we have the full-length Korean trailer for it.
Plot: A beloved and devoted priest (Song Kang-ho) from a small town volunteers for a medical experiment which fails and turns him into a vampire. Physical and psychological changes lead to his affair with a wife of his childhood friend who is repressed and tired of her mundane life. The one-time priest falls deeper in despair and depravity. As things turns for worse, he struggles to maintain what's left of his humanity.
There are currently no plans to release "Thirst" in US theaters, but that might change after the film appears in Cannes in May with hopes of getting picked up for distribution.

Is that the same trailer as before except w/ new shots? I don't remember the shot of the guy up on the cross with all the bandages.
Its also weird that they are looking for distribution for this movie when Universal could simply just release it.
