This was a book I enjoyed as a kid, almost as much as Where the Wild Things Are. So, it's a sad thing that it looks like to have one decent flick made one of my favorite toddler bedtime stories, another will have to suffer for it.

Though, I will admit that the book itself is tiny as hell and really a one-key concept. There's not a whole lot to it. It's just a cute story for kids. And hardly worthy of a feature-length adaptation at that. I suppose it is just easier to cling onto a recognizable name, hoping that people who enjoyed the book when they were kids might take their kids to to the movie, not knowing that the thing is a payload of stupid crap that has noting to do with the charming book. It's one of my least favorite things that Hollywood does, but it's also one of their favorite things to do, so go figure.

And that animation is genuinely horrendous, by the way.
