Hey, everybody. I've worked a little bit more on my underwater creature action/adventure movie, and I have a question that will affect the story big time: which is more interesting - the creatures coming from the ocean, or the characters thinking it came from the ocean but is a genetically engineered life form created by marine scientists that escaped a lab and disappeared into the sea? The reason I ask is because I've been thinking about PhantomRhyter's response stating that the creature wouldn't have any use for legs underwater, and I think the second option would make more sense, and I really want these guys to move and act like the lickers or brain suckers from the Resident Evil games, and they have legs.

Can somebody please help me out. I have a really big problem here. And I swear, as soon as I get some feedback, I'll never mention this script again. If I do, I'll let you shoot at me with a 9mm automatic. Shoot to kill or just injure, I don't really care. Thanks.

Crabs have legs, and they live underwater most of the time.

syxxpac,
Actually, I think it was someone else who told you that the creatures would'nt have use of legs underwater. I was just asking you some more information about the creatures in general. Actually I don't see why they would'nt have legs, that would not necessarily inhibit an underwater creature. Like Tuukka said crabs have legs, and so do other creatures I'm sure.
Personally I liked the idea that these creatues could go on land or water both. Also I like the idea of the native legends surrounding them. On account of this, I was thinking of your creatures as a 'new species' not yet discovered, but which had actually been around since time began.
When the monsters are discovered, I would have one of your scientist either being a cryptozoologist (people who look for animals that have not yet been discovered) or having interest in that field. You can learn more about cryptozoology by checking in with the on-line version of 'Fortean Times Magazine' (just type that into your browser, and you should get the links). Hope this helps.
Chills,

Ditto lobsters. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif
Personally I think the genetically engineered version is much more interesting (if somewhat cliche - but what monster movie isn't?)
