This is for the name of a 1953 tramp steamer, an old steam ship that carries a mysterious cargo and looks like this:

I thought almost all ships were named after places, but that might just be me...

Some ships are named after places, (USS Indianapolis) some after women, some after famous people, Generals, Presidents (USS Nimitz, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower), some after figures from mythology, etc.

Ships get their names from somewhere and place names are a good a place as any. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

So which name do you like the best? Who's to say they're not place names?

Valeperaso sounds cool. Where did you get it from? What does it mean?

Nice to meet sometime from the west coast of B.C.

What kind of scripts are you writing?

I like #1. Maybe you could use...

U.S.S. Poseidon...the Greek God of the sea. Was that already a ship?

Well there was "The Poseidon Adventure", about a ship that flips over. That ship must've been called the Poseidon.

Speaking of Greek gods and mythological figures, Charon is the name of the character who ferries dead souls across the River Styx to their place in Hades (Hell).

So some of my ideas for the ship are based on "Charon".

How about

SS Charontis

SS Charonte

SS Caronte

BTW, the "Ch" is pronounced as a "K".
