I just watched this for the first time in probably twenty years, maybe more.
Wow, have make-up effects improved.
Pretty goofy movie. It must have been a bitch to film, considering every other scene is someone falling into, or getting out of, the swamp. Extremely dated and very corny. Pretty much only good for nostalgia purposes.
One thing that always freaked me out when I was a kid was when he got his arm cut off - and even more so when it grew back (for some reason).
The most hilariously out of place scene is when Adrienne Barbeau decides she needs to take a bath, in the swamp, with god knows what else swimming around in there. The scene serves absolutely no purpose other than to show off her boobs.
And I never knew Wes Craven directed this one.
