I was so displeased when watching this last night. There were some laugh out loud (or LOL, if you will) moments, yes. But there were many more that made me want to cry with frustration.

Forgive me for not wording them exactly, I'm a little rusty:
I enjoyed "You shall not covet your neighbors goods" and "You shall not murder." The ones I disliked the most were about remembering the Sabbath and the other about coveting your neighbor's wife.

I didn't know Famke Janssen was in this. I was surprised at that casting and Liev Schreiber.

Anyway, 5/10. Thoughts? Flames?

HATED it. Especially the sequence (was it adultery?) that basically says 'Male rape, it's fucking hillarious'.

Vile.

Yeah, this was a terrible movie. I remember really looking forward to it because of the great cast, hard-R rating, and pretty funny trailer. Unfortunately it just wasn't very good.

Coveting your neighbor's wife, I believe it was...When I saw it was taking place in that prison I groaned.

I don't know if I'd call it a terrible movie. It's a misfire, but some of the sketches were good like the one about Jesus in Mexico and Liev Schrieber-Joe Le Truglio's coveting. I don't see why anybody would be upset about the male raping. I found it funny. I really liked the bit with the prisoner telling Ken Marino that he's "goofing" before he slaps him.

Start sucking!

Frankly I find that statement disturbing. There are a few things that, for me, just aren't funny... rape is right at the top of that list.

Tell me, would it be 'funny' if the sequence were about a man raping a woman (his neighbour's wife), if not why is it 'funny' that the same crime is being comitted by a man?

I did, however, laugh once in the movie, at the Dianne Weist joke, that was so out of left feild it creased me up.

im the opposite end for this flick.. i absolutely loved it and thought it was hilarious.

Saw it in theaters (as i do with all movies associated with The State alumni), and laughed quite hard. Ken Marino is the man... it was just a goof!

as for the Raping, and the issue of comedy... i dont dude, it just seems like youhave to take it in context... everything can be played for comedy, every scenario, you just have to take it in context, cant take everything too seriously.

Really average movie. It was hit and miss up until Winona Ryder's segment (best part of the whole movie) but after that it plummeted fast. The animated sketch, the naked one and that ending musical number were just horrible. Every sketch kept doing the same joke (take a ridiculous situation and treat it as seriously as possible) so it got stale quickly. Ever since WHAS the state crew haven't been making very good movies (surprisingly the best movie out of all the post-WHAS stuff is Wedding Daze). On the opposite side of things their TV stuff has been great. Reno 911 and Stella are/were hilarious and I'm looking forward to Michael and Michael Have Issues.

Really? I've been a little hesitant about watching that. Did you like The Baxter at all? (How did I feel about it? "Literally? Porked it.")

(I'm also looking forward to Michael and Michael Have Issues.:))

I have a macabre sense of humor along with my buddies. We're pretty much of the opinion that any subject can be funny. From rape to killing to incest to whatever taboo subject that I haven't mentioned. I'm glad my girlfriend understands it, otherwise I wonder what she really thinks of me whenever I mention wanting a nice BBQ baby brisket.

Man, I thought it was hilarious. Some segments were better than others, but that was because they were just amusingly quirky instead of gut-bustingly funny.

My favorite story was the cat-scan machine one. The men's prison one was funny, but too long for the one joke it was. The woman with the black kids cracked me up, especially when she said "Do I have to spell it out?" And she does. And the one kid goes "Let her finish!"

Funny movie.

I thought The Baxter was decent, but it really played out like a generic romantic comedy even though the story is based off of making fun of those kinds of movies.

Wedding Daze was also kind of a generic romantic comedy at points, but there'd be moments of completely off the wall humour that were great. And then once it gets to the end everything just goes all over the place in a good way.

I enjoyed Wedding Daze the most out of the movies that have come out so far (Role Models/Baxter/Daze/Ten), but I'd place The Baxter just below it. Then there's just two big gaps between RM and The Ten.

I thought this film was obnoxious and boring. Though i also thought the same with Wet Hot American Summer, which everyone and their mother my age adores.

I thought it was funny, but it just didn't go anywhere with anything. The musical stuff at the end was all right by me. I also liked the cast across the board. It just felt more like something I'd watch on TV, chopped up with commercials, than a feature.
