Just want to know what you thought of it as a movie, compared to Mystic River, Ben Afflecks directing and the acting.

I thought it was a very good film. Ben showed his directing ability, and Casey continued to prove himself as an up and coming actor. I know a lot of people didn't like the ending, but I liked how real it was. 8/10 for me

....I definately like it much better than Mystic River.

I dug this movie, and initially believed it to be superior to Mystic River. I've since changed my mind, but it's a quality flick and a real eye-opener in regards to Ben Affleck's skill behind the camera.

Dennis Lehane is the man. Never read the novel this film was based on, but everything else I've read by him is astounding and makes for great films.

I've been meaning to watch this movie since it came out, but still have not gotten around to it. I'll probably get it the next time my girlfriend is in town and make a night around it. I've heard nothing but really good things about it.

Very OVER RATED Movie.

Just because Ben Affleck directed it, doesnt mean its gold. It reminds me of a straight to DVD movie. The main actors are good but the supporting cast is TERRIBLE. They got some people in here who seem like they never acted a day before.

Storyline is basic, something you can see on CSI or something every week.

Dont believe the hype, this movie is average.

Great film. I enjoyed it more than Mystic River, which was a decent film. Mystic River was against vigilantism (the wrong man might get killed), whereas GBG was definitely supportive of regular people fighting evil. Which is why I prefered the latter.

P.S. entirely up to you, but personally I don't give much consideration to Earl Bond's views. I'm pretty sure he's a troll.

Very good film, Affleck directed it pretty well, Casey gave a strong performance as a lead and Ryan was just brilliant as the fucked-up mom. 8/10

I'd give Mystic River the same score, but I'd probably say it was better than Gone Baby Gone.

This was one of my favorite movies of '07. I really enjoyed he ending - it is a very interesting moral dilemma and found myself thinking about it for days afterwards. I liked it more than Mystic River, but they are both probably 9/10s.

Very excited to see more of Affleck behind the camera. This is a remarkable first film, and I feel he's got more in him. The realist tone added a level of engagement that could of been lost in the hands of a less capable director.

Just curious, would people consider this a Neo-Noir?
