One of Australia's greatest acting talent's had died today of prostate cancer at 86. The Sydney-born star first appeared on the silver screen in 1946 and is best known for his roles in classic Australian films Breaker Morant, The Castle and TV cop show Homicide. He went on to have roles in a number of Australian films and TV shows, including All The Rivers Run, Puberty Blues, The Flying Doctors, All Saints and Neighbours.
Most recently, Tingwell had small roles in The Craic, The Dish and the ABC series Changi and Bed Of Roses, aswel as a short stint hosting clip shows on the 9 Network.

It's definatly sad to see someone you've always seen on tv pass on. He was always an old bloke from when i was around, but he just seemed like he would keep on, always that happy old guy, and never actually though th dude would leave us. What's great about him though is that even with all his experience, he always contributed to young filmmaker's, often performing in student film's and shorts. My thoughts are with his family.

R.I.P. Bud.

Thats devastating. I'll aways remember him from the Late Show's Charlie the Wonderdog, a great takeoff of Skippy.

I agree, his appearances on The Late Show were hilarious and his turns in The Castle (1997) and Innocence (2000) were also great as well. He was a really good Aussie actor and he will be deeply missed.
