Piece-o-shit car

I need your opinion on something.

I recently found a car that i REALLY REALLY WANT! It is a 1965 Oldsmobile Jetstar 88. My mom, dad, mom's bf, and mom's bf's friend all say "You should get a peice-o-shit beater for your first car until you get the hang of driving." But i say "Is it so wrong to want my first car one that i can be proud of." So when i'm older and i'm talking to people at a High School Reunion and we are talking about our first cars. They say "My first car was a 32 Ford Pickup" "Mine was a 69 Mustang" And if i had a piece-o-shit beater, i would say. "I had a 99 Neon.....with a 3 foot hole in the side."

With the shitty, new law put in place (Anyone born after Jan, 1 1994 must be 17 to get license) That gives me more time to be driving. And i can use a Bravada, Envoy, another piece-o-shit beater, and a 05 neon to practice driving in many abandoned parking lots.

So tell me, AM I WRONG?

Now maybe if you were justifying this Rant by using films involving a teenager handling his first car (Transformers is the only one that comes to mind.) and how that relates to your query, then maybe it would be excusable. :)

Please don't get a car with a V8 engine and little braking power.

I know it's cool because Ash drives one, but if you're 15 years old, I'd take whatever you get and be happy with it. You're not going to be all that happy when your mom and her boyfriend won't give you $50 a week to keep gas in your Evil Dead car.
