My current television went to shit, so I'm deciding to upgrade to an HDTV instead of buying another a standard television.

I'm not really looking for much, maybe a 20-26"(bigger would be nice but I doubt my price range allows it) HDTV. I really don't want a monitor, because I'll never use it for my computer. I will probably only use it for my PS3 and watching blu-rays and watching standard television channels. I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to HDTVs, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Wish list
-Under $350
-20-26"
-HDTV
-GREAT video quality and good enough speakers
-Trustworthy brand/television
-Any reviews or input on the television would be helpful

I have been looking at this HDTV:

The version with the red bottom has good reviews and it seems like they are similar.

get it. you don't have much to choose from and Samsung makes great TV's. The only problem is that it's 60hz and 720p.

why is that a problem? He can watch all HD programming and watch all HD movies except 1080p. Unless that's what he wants. I personally don't see a huge difference between 1080i and 1080p, especially on a 27" tv. Plus he wants to spend less than $350. I think he's good with the Samsung

Don't bother with 1080p unless your TV is 50" or bigger (IMO). You won't notice the resolution of 1080p on a 26" TV.

Remember that the bigger the screen - the more the resolution helps. This ultimately benefits the viewer.

That link to the Samsung seems perfectly fine. Appears to be the 360 model and FYI, there's a newer 460 for about $20 more (according to Amazon)...

Samsung LN22B... (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=LN22B360&x=0&y=0)

You're right, he can watch all HD programming. And when his TV has to Downscale to match the resolution he can enjoy the wonderful artifacts that are produced. 720 is on it's way out like plasma.

Aren't 720p's also capable of 1080i? HD programming isn't broadcast in 1080p yet.
