There are certain songs that, when you hear them, you're instantly reminded of the music video for that song. I don't think I've seen a thread where we all shared our favorite music videos, so here we go!

Blind Melon - No Rain

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYlAwvz8uwc

Classic song with such a weird/awesome video.

Daft Punk - Around The World

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9MszVE7aR4

Michel Gondry directed the video - enough said.

Gary Jules - Mad World

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N3N1MlvVc4

Gondry again - see above.

Nine Inch Nails - Closer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JQ9W5Qv20c

The video works so well with the song that it's almost like they were made with each other in mind. Great stuff.

Sigur Ros - Glosoli

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr_MJAOyOeU&feature=fvst

Such an epic song accompanied by a beautifully realized/shot video.

Bjork - All Is Full Of Love

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjAoBKagWQA

Love the song, love the video. Cunningham is the man.

And finally, although it isn't technically a music video (it's a commercial), I thought I'd throw in Jose Gonzael - Heartbearts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zOrV-5vh1A

I would suggest watching it in HD.

Anyway, I've got plenty more but I figured I'd give everyone else a chance to respond with some of their favorites.

I don't really watch music videos that often, but I really dig Grizzly Bear's video for Two Weeks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o22eIJDtKho
-sensitive and powerful in its simplicity...this is as close as you can get to being moved by a music video.

COME TO DADDY aphex twin/chris cunningham
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Az_7U0-cK0
-one of the creepiest vids i've ever seen...agreed with above, cunningham = god, i just wish he'd get around to directing a damn movie.

COFFEE & TV blur/hammer & tongs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oqXVx3sBOk
-this video always made me laugh. the journey the milk carton takes is epic.

RABBIT IN YOUR HEADLIGHTS unkle feat. thom yorke/jonathan glazer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3ClCwcCvdQ
-brilliant. great ending - i just saw the movie tokyo! a few days ago and denis levant (the actor in this video) plays another crazy guy walking the streets of japan (as seen in my display pic)...it reminded me of how brilliant he is in this video. glazer's other work is genius too, especially street spirit (fade out).

EVERLONG foo fighters/michel gondry
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H0BMfqFP9c
-i could list over a dozen gondry vids easily but this one incorporates all his trickery and sfx wizardry while telling a great little gondry-esque story (ala science of sleep) wrapped around an homage to evil dead. and the song fucking rocks.

HYPER-BALLAD bjork/michel gondry
http://vodpod.com/watch/1339373-hyperballad-bjork
-okay i had to pick just one more gondry vid as well as he has so many damn great ones (seriously, almost every vid he's done has been good to great). i've always really dug the mood and tone of this one, it's very calming in a weird way. gondry is the master when it comes to synchronicity between the audio and the visuals.

ABBA videos are my favorites. They were made in the 70s and early 80s and are primitive by today's standards, but I was so totally hypnotized by the ABBA girls that I have watched those videos hundreds of times.
