View Full Version : Artie Lange completely ruins Joe Buck's HBO show

I thought it was pretty funny just for the sheer awkwardness of it all. However, if I was Joe Buck I probably would of curb stomped Lange for being a complete asshole. Paul Rudd acted like a gentlemen thru it all though.

Also, for those that arent aware of who Artie Lange is, he is on the Howard Stern show. Here is the famous epic meltdown where Artie goes off on his assistant and then quits the Howard Stern Show. NSFW

Good on Rudd for trying to lighten the mood.

Artie is a drug addict.

I hate Artie, but I also can't stand that Ryan Seacrest of sports broadcasting, Joe Buck. Still, that was a fun watch because I love live trainwreck moments.

I am conflicted about this. I hate Artie Lang. He is totally unfunny and just a fat, drunk loser. Is he even still on the Howard Stern Show anymore? Have not listened to Howard in years.

Since I am a Yankee fan and Joe Buck is a Yankee hater, I do not like Joe Buck. He is great at what he does for the most part. Joe needs to be knocked down a few pegs, because he has gotten way too much, way too fast. This show is going to bomb. He should have punched Artie in the face and watch him cry. At the very least should have known what a drunk loser Artie is and ripped him a new ass and then have security remove him when Artie gets violent.

Michael Irving had the best line, "I like seeing white on white crime."

I never thought I'd see such a ridiculous bit of news on the JoBlo forums ever.

I'm pretty sure you guys aren't aware of the full facts as that article doesn't explain shit about Artie's side of the story.

Artie went on the next day with Howard to say that both his boss Tim Sabean and the HBO producer told him to "go nuts" on the show if he felt it was getting too quiet or boring. I listened to the actual show itself and it was flat-out BORING whenever Artie wasn't part of it. Paul Rudd wasn't interesting at all (still love his movies but he's too quiet during interviews).

Artie is a comedian. Pure and simple. Whenever he wasn't speaking during the show, it just fell flat. All Joe Buck wanted to talk about was the fact that he and Paul Rudd went to the same high school together. Who gives a fuck? The audience was dead silent with no applause and no laughter at all when Artie wasn't doing his thing.

If you're going to have such a raunchy comedian on your show (which was broadcasted on HBO and the net so profanity wasn't an issue), don't be so fucking surprised if he does what he does best.

Artie then went on explaining that backstage after the show, Paul Rudd gave him a big hug telling him how funny he was and same for Joe Buck. So if Joe Buck later called the newspapers complaining about him, then Joe's a fucking backstabber and isn't worth the airtime.

Way to stay strong Artie and don't let these guys bring you down.

I kinda figured that. He was there to get people talking about a show no one would have talked about had he not been there.

Exactly bud. I had never even heard of this Joe Buck show before Monday morning. That's how "great" it is.

Completely ruins? How about fucking MAKES the show? If you could promise me that during every episode someone would rip into Joe and make him look like a total ass, I would call Comcast right now and Subscribe to HBO.

Fuck Joe Buck.

Amen brother! Artie had me in tears laughing during the show.

Well, this was just the part that was online. No one would have actually seen this on HBO.

I thought Buck got back a few pretty good zingers as well.

Paul Rudd and the other guy (don't know his name) were actually funny without being assholes about it.

For the record, I thought what Artie did was quite entertaining. But this was Buck's FIRST show and it showed how unprepared he was for it, so it did sorta "ruin" his show.

I am NOT a fan of Joe Buck. The dude has no business being a talk show host at all. He is not witty, charming or even funny at all. He should stick to doing the play by play for Fox, like Artie mentioned. Buck was totally out of his element.

With that said, Lange was acting like a complete tool. I am curious how someone can have a huge coke/heroin problem and a weight problem as well. It makes zero sense.

Totally agree. I dont know the guy's name either but I know he is on SNL. When Lange mentioned that he probably was paid pennies for his SNL gig, the dude responded right back that "hey, at least I am young in the game" or something like that.
Then of course Artie mentioned something like "Hey, dont talk to me like that cause I am from New Jersey blah blah blah", haha sure thing Artie. That SNL dude would probably destroy your fatass in a fight.

And this incident shows once again how awesome Rudd is.

That's always been a funny joke on Howard's show. His doctor also told him that his liver is perfectly fine which is extraordinary.

Oh player its all good. I am a bit slow today and not much makes sense right now since I have the day off and started drinking since noon. No worries.

Question for you, how long will Buck's show last??

I hate Joe Buck and think Artie Lang is an unfunny schmuck but that was entertaining. Poor Paul Rudd though, you could tell he was very uncomfortable though he played it off pretty well. That guy is too awesome.

He's a douche, i'm just glad that the guests were of the calibur they were, so he couldn't stomp them and make himself look 'cool'.

No, he was told to go on and be fucking funny....and he was. So what if he rips into the guests. They're grown men, they can fire back at him. He wasn't trying to look "cool" and who gives a fuck about their "caliber"? It's a show that has no viewers hosted by a moron.

I don't buy the whole bullshit excuse that Artie can "go nuts" if the show was boring, unless it comes from the mouth of Joe Buck himself. Even if it was true Artie went way too far and was way too insulting and disrespectful.

One day the truth will come out that Howard told him to say all that shit, so that people will tune in to listen to Howard again. Howard will do ANYTHING to get people to listen and talk about him or his show.

If it was true that they wanted someone to wake the show up, they should have expected this from Artie. This is what he does. That would be like having Carrot Top on and then being mad at him because his face looks like a vagina with orange pubic hair. Well what do you expect? It is Carrot Top!

Same goes for Artie. They should have expected this even if they did not ask him to get the show going. He is a rude guy who makes gay, dick, fart jokes for a living. He does this very well too. I laughed my ass off most of the interview.

Fuck Joe Buck.

He made the show watchable by turning up the heat. I imagine Joe Buck will never have anymore comedians come on due to Artie ruining Joes shitty show. Good riddens give me back my regular HBO broadcasting.

I give props to Artie for having that much confidence and wit to reflect Joes negative comments back at him.

I am curious how someone can have a huge coke/heroin problem and a weight problem as well. It makes zero sense.

Because coke and heroin destroy your metabolism from opposite ends of the spectrum. Cocaine temporarily raises it but lowers your basal(base) metabolism everytime you crash. So eventually a single cheeseburger may get you to gain weight if you're a cocaine crazy king. Heroin is the easier one to understand; but I've known plenty of fat cokeheads.

If you wanna lose weight + get high - do crystal meth.

He's not. I'm just saying the show itself and its guidelines and rules as the "establishment".

I actually watched this live. I was originally recording it, but I felt compelled to watch.

I'm not a big fan of Joe Buck. As an announcer he has his moments but I can think of more moments he's ruined than moments he's made better. But after watching Artie completely firebomb his show, I actually felt bad for him. You can tell he was trying so hard to have a professional show, and really wanted it go well. This was HIS moment. And Artie took a massive steaming dump on it.

Granted, the show wasn't going well at all. The Favre interview was a non-event. Michael Irvin looked annoyed to be there. I thought it was great how Chad Ochocinco called Buck out after he said he was trashing Bengals quarterbacks. And remember, Phillies fans walk the streets of New York City in full gear, and know where David Wright and Joe Buck are eating! Please.

And than Artie came on and produced magical, cringe inducing television. Buck looked like he wanted to kill himself and take Artie with him. Paul Rudd looked uncomfortable, and Jason Sudekis had no reason to be there. It was awesome for all the wrong reasons.

And there's more! They did an additional seven minutes online that was supposed to be fifteen minutes but they cut it short for obvious reasons.

What was HBO expecting when they booked Artie Lange? Seriously.
