No one is the movie business is as good a promoter as Sacha Baron Cohen. This dude is EVERYWHERE doing all sorts of gay like stunts to promote Bruno. He is in character the whole time. He did it with Borat and is doing it with Bruno. The man is pure comic genius.

Yeah, he's like a performance artist in the way that Larry the Cable Guy is, except I actually like Cohen. Larry the Cable Guy isn't as funny except for when he asks if you've ever farted and your back cracked. I never knew that happened to anyone else. Funny shit, but not as good as 90% of Cohen's prank interviews.

You ever taking a dump so big your pants fit better? Yeah.

I'm always fascinated by the smaller manifestations of the beauty of American capitalism...and this is no exception. Cohen/Bruno's seeing those dollars with every trip over the rainbow.

A genius he is. I mean, he doesn't just show up to the Bruno-related events in character; he shows up EVERYWHERE in character; other movie premieres, awards shows, events... EVERYTHING. It truly is the best advertising any studio could possibly ask for.

He sure is unique and in my opinion possibly the best comedy actor ever (Peter Sellers is the only name that comes to mind when I try to think of someone better). I do love the fact that he stays in character for interviews and press junkets, some of the Borat stuff was hilarious.

Actually I turned on Channel 5 when I woke up this morning and the interviewer did a little profile on him and then said 'can we see if he can come out of character?'. At that point they cut to the interview:

Interviewer: So what do you think of this Sacha Baron Cohen fella.
Bruno: He's a fake, such a fake...and totally gay.

:D

I've thought this for a while now. I think Cohen is a genius. No one has the level of dedication that he does and that definitely shows.

I'm a big fan of this guy. I loved Da Ali G Show. The fact that he could interview congressmen and Gore Vidal and go over their heads is comedy gold to me. A good number of the people he interviewed weren't idiots.

I also like that his comedy isn't just for the sake of laughs, he actually touches on people's fears and exposes how people tolerate others that are different more than they actually accept them. Of course, he does this in the most over-the-top manner, but that is the nature of comedy.

How could anybody not laugh at his singing of the national anthem at the rodeo show in Borat? It seems his detractors just want to focus on the penis moment rather than acknowledge that he actually is an intelligent comedy writer. Even his simpler jokes are great such as the kids running to the ice cream truck and the bear just pops out. Sure, it's done with editing, but it's still funny.

I agree. The man is a genius. Every bit role he does is even pure gold. Plus, he's banging Isla Fischer. Yum yum....

Also, I'm gonna move this to the 'Celeb talk/gossip' forum as this thread is more-or-less about a celeb.

I loved it when he was advertising for Borat... it worked brilliantly because unless you heard of the Ali G show (which few people had) you actually seriously questioned whether or not Borat was a real person or not.

With Bruno, it's just not the same. We all know it's just an act.

There's something mysterious about him. He doesn't seem to be all into the Hollywood scene, apparently he's actually a really level headed smart guy.
But yea, he's freakin hilarious too.
