ok SPOILER for anyone who reads onward

when Stark (from Iron Man, even played by Robert Downey Jr. himself) confronts General Ross in the bar and says "what would you say if I told you we were putting a team together" is there anything to that ?

Im sure its something associated with comic books within the Marvel world but seeing as how I have not read any Iron Man or Hulk comics (I know sellout right!?) but I was wondering if any schmoes with some comic knowledge might be able to enlighten me to what they were implying might happen down the road

when I wikipedia'd it, it showed me about the Avengers, but does that mean they hunt down the hulk? or do they try and get him to join up....

any info would be dynamite, thanks guys

After the credits of Iron Man there is a little hidden scene where Nick Fury (played by Sam Jackson) finds Tony in his house and tells him quickly about the "Avengers project"

Cut to a few months later, and you have Stark in the Hulk film talking about the same thing.

Yes, they are doing an Avengers movie. First and foremost though, they are going to do a Captain America movie and a Thor movie.

Basically, Marvel is doing this incredible thing where they are now crossing over their FILM franchises the way they are in the comics. These characters all exist in the same world, and they often overlap each other. For instance, the Fantastic Four live in the same New York that Spider-Man lives in and often cross paths. Unfortunately, Spider Man and Fantastic Four's film rights are not owned by Marvel, so they cannot cross over.

With that said, the general consensus among fans is that the most-wanted PLOT for the Avengers film would be to have the Hulk rampage once again, and its up to Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D. to bring him down.

I'll probably go see Thor if I want a two-hour nap. Yeah, I think he's boring. I don't give a fuck what you guys think. ;)

Anyway, what adamjohnson says is right on the money. I believe even the last scene with Banner is supposed to be a hint of things to come.

That he might enjoy being the Hulk.

Well yeah!

Eh, I haven't read nearly enough Avengers. I'm definitely not going to start now. How many freakin' series are they up to now? Mighty Avengers...Secret Avengers...New Avengers...Dark Avengers...? I know I'm missing a series or two. I'm so sick of Brian Michael Bendis. I used to be a fan of his. :(

Anyway, the movie...the movie...I felt like both Hulk movies were lacking. I liked '03 better, but I can see where people might have hated it. There wasn't enough Hulk being Hulk. The latest one definitely upped the action and pizazz but they didn't really delve into his inner workings and all that.

Plus the latest version gave us this line: "I don't know what you've got inside you already... the mixture could become... an ABOMINATION." I groaned and nearly threw my remote at the screen.

well in case u guys aint up on things-the movies will never overlap characters(tons in NY-spidey, F4, blade, daredevil, Dr. Strange and countless villains) like they did in the cartoons or comics. Sometimes I hate that...shit on a regular day u or me can go to ny and see someone famous just walking by, ya know. anywho as for hulk/ironman..before capt america, hilk, thor, iron man, ant man and wasp was to go against loki, thors bro. Later on gov't security clearance was cleared by stark for avengers but hulk wasnt accepted like the rest and public wasnt sure about this new team...he left avengers. Now comes capt america to improve avengers look to public. starting team didnt like being best team in america or the spotlight and left. now capt america all alone hired hawkeye, etc. for newer avengers...so hard to translate overlapping comics into movies. shit jumps all over the place.

That he might enjoy being the Hulk.

I thought it was more about that he could control becoming the Hulk.

According to the commentary it's ambiguous. But the fact is, he's never been able to control the Hulk.

Just like in Ang Lee's film, Banner LIKES losing control.

if u look too tho(neverminding in comics hulk talks) but in marvel universe or something, hulk during the 1st avengers is a leader. but movies will switch things up on u because after hulk left, the avengers or s.h.i.e.l.d. tracked him down in alaska, tricked him into a shuttle pick up and hulk haters hurl the shuttle into space and he goes to a planet where silver surfer is and becomes battle hulk and forms a group called warbound. see what i mean about so much info for a movie? this new planet he's on is too much unless they do this marvel line like jason movies and never stop haha

Obviously none of that would be in a movie.

someone told me that there is a seen in the hulk where supposedly capt america is frozen near a mountain, I think they are pulling my leg because I havent seen jack, was capt america actually frozen in the comics or something, I guess I feel highly inadequate loving superhero movies but knowing nothing about the comics that first brought them to life

Yeah its there. But its actually worse than "blink and you miss it" moment. It's a "pause it and look real hard for a half an hour" moment. It's there, it's been confirmed by the director, but it's so subtle I would never have seen it.

Cap is frozen and thats how he gets to modern times.

yeah tweek that whole war hulk series. I guess writers will change things to keep things...earthly or realistic? Oh and the blessed deleted capt clip-where would they have put this scene in movie and who was the flashback chick in there? not liv tyler, not even a look-a-like. do u have the iron man scene of capt shield? its not in ice in both movies is it? must be more than one shield.
