Dick Plays Bloody Ronald McDonald In PETA Protest

21 June 2009 6:40 PM, PDT

Comic Andy Dick led a PETA protest in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday, dressed as a blood-spattered Ronald McDonald.

The newly-sober funnyman turned activist to slam McDonald's bosses for the way they treat chickens, which they slaughter and cook up for fast food fans.

He carried a cleaver, which he waved at motorists driving by McDonald's downtown Chicago location.

Dick shouted, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" to which fellow protesters chanted, "I'm hating it" - a reference to McDonald's slogan 'I'm loving it'.

He was joined by PETA vice president Dan Matthews.

PETA has completely lost any cred they have left. These morons actually think getting Andy Dick to get dressed up as a bloody Ronald is gonna be effective???

Ahhh PETA. I think the Pen and Teller Bullshit episode on them does it more just than any of us could. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Peta is ridiculous... i can not stand that group at all, i cant even say that their cause is nobel, because they have become so ludicrous over the years, that their cause has lost all traction.

I mean seriously... calling out Obama, because he Swatted a fly?!?! That is completely asinine!

Getting Andy Dick at your protest is like having tits on a nun. its almost as dumb as having him show up to a feminist rally.

Peta is a disgrace to the animal rights movement. They care about making headlines more than they care about making a difference. And the sad thing is, they're quite successful at making those headlines, and in the process have become what the public recognizes as the face of the movement, thereby making all animal right activists look like a bunch of crazed whackjobs with no real grasp of reality.

Isn't that pretty much the way with most causes? I mean, don't the loudest and most idiotic usually become 'representatives' in a way and ruin it for non-whack jobs?

They still do a lot of good things, I agree with a lot of what they're trying to do. Someone needs to help the animals living conditions. The problem is PETA is run by fanatics so they end up pissing a lot of people off and doing more bad than good. Really stupid of them cus they had a good thing going at one point.

I like their cause, to protect living things from harm, but they're such fucking fanatics its ridiculous.

Monks respect all living creatures INCLUDING watching where they step so they harm no insects. But at least theyre fucking quiet about it.

PETA is a joke. They should refocus on core issues before branching out to BS stuff.

Andy Dick is doing PETA penance for all the gerbils he has killed by putting them in his ass. Yeah, I said it. You know it is more true than not. For the record, I do not have a problem with him and gerbils or hamsters or anything he wants to stick up his ass.
