Farrah Fawcett, who soared to fame as a national sex symbol in the late 1970s on television's campy "Charlie's Angels" and in a swimsuit poster that showcased her feathery mane and made her a generation's favorite pinup, died today at 62, according to Reuters.

I will ALWAYS remember her 70's hotness and though her stint on Angels was short lived for obvious reasons she went on to do some kick ass movies (Burning Bed, Extremities) (Though Sunburn was DUMB there was still that special somethin about it, have not seen Saturn 3 yet)

She had just married Ryan O'Neal after all those years.....he must be devastated.

EDIT: Oops....I just read he got her to say yes to marrying him. They were waiting till she felt good enough to do it....that's even worse that they never made it.

A lot of people wrote Farrah Fawcett off as just another silly,sexy,blonde bouncing around on t.v,but she proved she was much more especially in movies like Extremities and The Burning Bed .She proved she was a fighter in those films and in life with her battle with cancer.

She still looked great for a 62 year old. This is totally sick, but if I were the family I would be watching her from the time she died until she was in the ground and then have cameras on the grave site. I don't trust any of those people who deal with dead people.

I started off thinking about how it's weird to me that Ed McMahon's death was more surprising than Fawcett's and how that's kind of sad and tragic. Then I went on to consider how much I really wish the media wouldn't publicize sickness like this. I suppose on some levels it's good for other people battling the same thing, but on the other hand, I feel like that information is already out there, and the only thing coming from it is just desensitizing the public to these sorts of things. I'm sorry, and hope this doesn't come off harsh, but Farrah Fawcett should have been the more shocking celebrity death of June. Maybe I'm out of line here, and maybe not thinking straight, but that hasn't stopped me before. So...

When I was a little girl, my friends and I pretended to be Charlie's Angels. I was always Jill. I always thought she was so beautiful. I saw her in The Burning Bed, Extremities and Murder In Texas after she was off the show. She wasn't just a pretty face, she was a good actress given the right roles.

I knew it was coming, but I was still shocked to see that she died today.

Unfortunately, all I really remember her for was her wavy blonde hair that is now a staple of pop culture, but it is a shame she suffered so much before passing on.

As as child I adored the character of Jill, plus I had long blond hair. :D Looking back now, as beautiful as Farrah was Jaclyn Smith was the most beautiful angel of them all imo.
