OK maybe not true on every account but there was a bit of jest involved. There's much truth in jest though. That's definitely true, at least in my case. Me and my buddy were talking a few weeks ago about a friend of ours who died years ago and how we had forgotten about the fact that the friend who died used to do things that pissed us off to such an extreme that we would not talk to him for days. We forgot about those things because after he died, we only really wanted to remember the good times we had with him...the good side.
