Is it just me or should this trailer have ended right when Maguire wakes up?

I don't know about it ending when he woke up but it did feel a bit long.

This is what The Deer Hunter would have been if Michael decided to fuck Nicky over only for Nicky to get his shit together and come home.

Great movie, albeit a bit short, went by a little fast......oh, that was the trailer?;)

It looks GREAT! Can't wait to see it especially since it's something completely different for Tobey Maguire and it looks like he gives a hell of a performance. That and Natalie Portman has never looked so gorgeous!

Haha I was thinking the same exact thing. They showed way too much!

I think I am going to see it theaters still. The story looks like it has potential.

I agree. They showed way too much. Now I'm not even interested to see it. It just looks obvious. Although it's nice to see Maguire not play another boring stiff. Okay, so he's a boring stiff with a psychotic side to him.

Looks kind of boring. It was way too long for my interest, but I blame that it's about a story line that I doesn't interest me. Iraq war vet comes home but still suffering from PTSD and ruins any chance of picking up his family pieces. Realistic in some cases, but depressing and not something that I'm interested in reveling in.

Like all the players though.

That trailer is fucking HORRIBLE. It was good and nice and slow with the awesome U2 song playing and then without warning this thriller aspect comes out of nowhere. Really bad trailer.

Well this IS a trailer, not a movie. I'm sure in the movie it's a slow and intense build to an explosive climax.

Ya I agree that trailer was horrible. The pacing was so badly off... it was like 2 trailers for two different movies glued together.

The movie could be decent, but give me a better trailer before I decide!

I agree, the trailer is horrid, but the cast is pretty exciting, and if Sheridan hasn't completely lost his touch (which, when considering that he most recently directed Get Rich or Die Tryin', seems to be an unfortunate but plausible possibility at the moment), hopefully he'll be able to get some great performances out of Gyllenhaal, Portman, and maybe even Maguire, who was good in some movies (Cider House Rules, Pleasantville, Seabiscuit) but who I never got the feeling could ever deliver a REALLY great performance like Gyllenhaal did in Brokeback Mountain.

Still, I'm definitely interested considering the talent involved, so we'll just wait and see what reviews say.

That trailer is too fucking long (I don't think I've ever said this about a trailer before), and it showed too much. I'll probably see Brothers because of the talent involved, but they seriously need to put out a better trailer before the film's release. The best thing about this trailer was the use of U2's "Bad", which is their best song, as far as I'm concerned.

Anybody seen the original Danish version? Susanne Bier is really coming into her own as the female equivalent of Lars von Trier (not as outlandish and controversial, but she really taps into an unforgiving part of humanity that most people would like to see).

Connie Nielsen gives a strong performance that I don't think Portman will come close to matching. I'm iffy on Gyllenhaal, and Maguire is a pretty bad actor outside of the Spider-Man series (or, at least, the first two).

I would like to be in the corner of Jim Sheridan, being that he made the fantastic My Left Foot and In America, but this doesn't look good. Overwrought, which the original was not.

I feel almost the opposite. Maguire is perfectly okay in the Spider-Man franchise, but he is so much better in everything else from The Ice Storm to The Cider House Rules to Wonder Boys and then Seabiscuit.

Trailer was far too long, revealed too much, but it looks decent. Maguire looks really good here. Interesting subject matter, but there are so many ways to fuck it up. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

Looks great. Will be seeing in theaters mainly because of Portman.
