Because there already isn't enough news today, The Sunday Mail is reporting that Blade director Stephen Norrington and Stephen Dorff - who played Deacon Frost in the first film - are teaming up for a potential prequel! Dorff tells the mag, "It will be a prequel to the Blade movies, Deacon's story. It's a new trilogy the director has created. It will be cool," he continues, "We hope to shoot the first film next year. Frost is a character I have never been able to shake." The site spelled Dorff's name wrong and has plenty of other errors, so I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be bunk.

Yeah, and unicorns shoot laser beams out of their hooves...

Never liked him in Blade. If this was pulled out of someone's ass it would be the best for everyone. Then again some studio exec probably saw the fake story you just posted and has already greenlit the 3 prequels and filming starts tomorrow.

Deacon is a cool character and I like Dorff as Deacon but this is a really bad idea. I hope it's not true.

Now I AM up for a new Blade movie though. That would be cool.

Will this be like the Hannibal Lecter prequel ?

Will this be like the Hannibal Lecter prequel ?

I never saw Hannibal Rising but at least in that case it was about the character that most people go see a Hannibal Lecter movie for.

This would be more like if they did a prequel to Gary Oldman's character from Hannibal. Nobody saw Blade for Deacon Frost. People saw Blade for Blade.

I didn't mind Deacon Frost, I thought he was a decent enough villain for the story. But coupled with what we learned of his history, I don't see him being an interesting enough of a character to focus on.

Delving into the vampire pure blood clans would make for an interesting tale, but might run the risk of coming off like an Underworld knock-off or shades of Vampire: The Masquerade.

I'd rather have a story about Jared Nomak than Frost.

Deacon Frost was not that exciting a villain or character. What the hell are they going to do for 3 movies exactly?

I'd rather see a fourth Blade movie than this. This is just dumb.

Stephen Norrington retired from filmmaking after The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen(thanks to diva-Connery) to continue his work as a very-skilled model maker/sculptor.

So I call BS on this.
