What are your plans for the weekend? How was your weekend? Stuff like that.

I'm going to a bachelor party on Saturday. Morning tee time, bbq, a Tiger game at night, followed by bar golf downtown Detroit.
Sunday, I'll be recovering from Saturday

I'm planning to keep it very tame this weekend. No parties, no going out much. Only because I'm going to Portland, OR this Monday, so I'd rather make sure I'm A-Okay for the trip. I love going out there in the summer... there's always house parties, shows, nice places to meet people and best of all I get to hang out with my cousin. It's one of those places where you'll meet somebody on a Monday and by Thursday, you'll see that person and they'll actually remember your name and ask about your trip. You just can't find that where I live.

I'm visiting my dad in Camarillo (in a northern direction, close to Oxnard). We usually just hang out, I find it more of a getaway from it all type of weekend. It's very serene and quiet up there, I do a lot of my writing in lieu of zero car alarms, vibrating loud soundsystems and screaming kids. There's also a cheapie independent theater up there ($5 matinee) that shows some decent arthouse offerings.

Getting there is the fun part -- taking the 1 all the way up the coast, and if you time it right and leave on a gorgeous sunny day, there's nothing better. Turn on the iPod and just chill while cruising.

Same here. Except at Buffalo Wild Wings so that we not only dont have to pay for it, we can get some kickass food at the same time. Place is always jammed though so you have to get there about 1.5 hours before it starts and just draw the shit out of your meal. What you dont spend on the PPV ($30 or so) you usually end up spending for your bill because you'll have an appetizer (or 2), an entree, few beers.....plus tip.

Totally worth it though.

I'm heading to Philly on Sunday afternoon. Before then, hopefully getting in on some flag football tourney action on Saturday afternoon, maybe bumming UFC at a friend's house afterward (well, actually I'm living there over the summer). Also, I'll definitely be putting some work into selling old textbooks and getting some affiliate marketing off the ground.

I don't have much planned for this weekend. However, I do plan on catching up on some indie flicks I've yet to see. I'm tired of the multi-plex theaters at the moment, and I desperately want to go to an indie theater.

Also, a friend of mine is having a birthday party at a place called the Yardhouse. Although he invited me, I haven't decided if I'll attend. If some other people I know go, I'll go. But if not, I'll skip it, because I don't want to be trapped in a restaurant with complete strangers (with exception of my friend who's throwing the party), bored to death.

Homyrrh, Philly is awesome. I've been there twice, it doesn't get much better than a cheesesteak from Geno's.

Camarillo is an awesome town. As soon as you drop over the hill the temp drops 10-15 degrees. Quiet. Pretty. Great outlet mall. Great movie theater. Close to just about everything else. Oxnard is mostly a shit hole (northern part is ok).

Absolutely, its open 24/7 so you pretty much have to.

How far are you from Los Angeles? I was out there about a month and half ago visiting. It was my first time, one of the best vacations I've been on. I saw some characters out there, so when I got back to Michigan, nothing really surprised me anymore. I also got sun poisoning too.

I live in LA county. San Fernando Valley. The home of porn. Evil Angel is like 1/2 from me. I am fair skinned. You have to watch the sun now for the rest of your life. Sun poisoning is a serious thing. Go see a dermatologist. You just exponentially increased your chances of skin cancer. There is a lot to do here.

Yea I had never felt like that before, my stomach felt terrible. I would eat like 4 grapes and feel completely full. My stomach and face were honestly as red as the Joblo banner. But I did bag my first asian which was awesome, until she scratched my back and I almost cried.

Heh, my father's side of the family is from the Philly area. I typically get down there (from my own home in North Jersey) at least once a year. Most shamefully, of the dozens of times I've been in Philly, I've have yet to stop by either Pat's or Geno's. I'm there two weeks with very little to do, so I figure I may as well quietly hit a twofer some afternoon.

Just admit it. Every time you go to Philly, you get a sausage and pepper sandwich from the guy on the corner nearest the Liberal Bell Exhibit. You know his pork is the best.

I do not know where you have lived your whole life, but Downingtown, PA might as well be Mars. You are currently no where near the city and I would say the boonies or farm land area. Your whole town is two main roads (Rt 30 and Lincoln Highway). No offense. What you said stuck me funny, because I know you are in the middle of no where. Anything west of King of Prussia is not a Philly suburb.

Chester County along with Montgomery, Burks, ect. county are all considered to be a part of the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. So D-town is considered to be a Philly suburb.

D-town is half way between Philly and Lancaster. But we are just a 45 minute drive from center city Philly.

Yeah, the dueling 24-7 eateries Pat's and Geno's (Pat's >> Geno's) are probably the most famous places in Philly to get cheesesteaks (and I always thought would make for a good short film), but most Philly residents I know wouldn't dream of going there to get a cheesesteak unless they've got an out-of-towner visiting.

McNally's and especially Jim's do the best cheesesteaks for my money.

Everyone I know from Philly proper would laugh at someone from Downingtown if they said they were from Philly, but one of my best friends is from Downingtown and he and all his friends say they are. It's the same with Jersey kids claiming New York, or any city/suburb divide really.

As for my weekend, Friday I drove 13 hours then crashed, last night I went to a friend's 21st birthday party, today I'm recuperating, writing and trying to catch Bruno with some friends.

Haha no. I actually don't even remember posting that. But the day started out great, got wasted golfing. Flipped a cart, fooling around on a terrible course. We went to my buddies to bbq, then we left for the Tigers game on a party bus. The bus was an old school bus, a short one actially. But we were all drinking, having a good time, when the emergency door swung open. I was sitting right behind it, so I stood up and shut. Then my buddy tells the bus driver to stop. I turn around and see one of our friends on the ground. So I jump out with a friend and run over to the kid that fell out. Had to call 911, he ended up breaking his leg, and he had swelling on his head. Could have been a lot worse. We got dropped off at the house, and the fucking driver had the nerve to ask for his money. I told him to fuck off. We got word our buddy was doing better and was gonna be ok, so we all decided to go out. The rest of the night was good, I got labia

Really? I used to go there with my parents a few times when I was a kid (cheese fries = droooooool). When I visit family there now they're usually game to go.

I don't go to Geno's though, after that "we only speak english here" debacle, my family was just put off. Not that we frequented Geno's much to begin with. Its pretty much been Pat's since almost forever.

this weekend I'm hoping to catch a movie or two, make some serious progress in mapping a drawing idea out, watch my new Coraline DVD and maybe make some stir fried shrimp.
