Note: I couldn't find a thread on this film so please erase if one is already created. It's the Italian trailer so that doesn't help much...but I does give you an idea of how the animation is going to look.

Saw the domestic trailer before Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs a while ago. Strange that it hasn't been release online. Looks good though.

Sigh.

Zemeckis needs to get back to REAL movies or go away. For good.

He USED to be a fine filmmaker, but his inability to realize that this brand of animation JUST ISNT realistic (yet) proves to me he just doenst know what he's doing.

I agree...the man hasn't done a live action movie since 2000 with Cast Away which I loved. He's easily one of my favorite director's of all time with films like the Back to the future trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Forrest Gump. I still gotta catch Contact which I haven't been able to see yet. He truly does have to get back to what he does best...even though I will catch this flick at some point, I'm just not sure if it will be in theater.

Pretty much this. Zemeckis has lost his damn mind.

Saw the trailer in a theater some weeks ago and my interest in the movie is still nil.

Jim Carrey in the poster resembles the poster and character in Leminy Snickets

I'm intrigued by what they're doing with Jim Carrey playing several different roles in the movie. I also like that Gary Oldman has a part in the movie.

BUT . . . this story has been done a million times in many different forms . . . from classic adaptations (Alastair Sims version is one of my favorite Christmas movies) to spoofs (Scrooged) to animated movies (Mickey's Christmas Carol). I don't think this version is going to add anything except 3D motion-capture animation . . . nothing to the story, to the characters, or to the classic that is Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."
