A trailer for a new "infected' type zombie movie just arrived, and surprisingly it looks really, really thrilling. It's been getting good buzz from screenings too.

Yeah, it looks pretty good. Piper Perabo is in it. Love her.

Seems it's not a zombie movie but a pandemic virus.
http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=26197:
A deadly virus has spread across the globe. Contagion is everywhere, no one is safe, and no one can be trusted. Four young attractive people race through the back roads of the American West to the pounding beat of a vacation soundtrack. Their aim is to retreat to a secluded utopian beach in the Gulf of Mexico, where they could peacefully wait out the pandemic and survive the apocalyptic disease. CARRIERS follow their getaway through a surreal and dangerous world where laws and rules no longer apply.
Their plans take a grim turn when their car breaks down on an isolated road, starting a chain of events that will seal the fate of each of them in an inexorable and horrifying voyage of hell through a western landscape populated by only the hideous dead or the twisted living. Their desperate retreat south turns into a deadly battle against infected children, homicidal doctors, crazed survivalists, rabid dogs, and finally, each other. The virus is the least of their problems as horrible choices must be made in the face of lost humanity.
darn, I like zombie movies.

It definitely had the FEEL of a zombie flick though. Infact, I very much got a 28 Days Later vibe from the trailer.
But it looks creepy as hell either way.

May not be a zombie flick... but that looks like it will be pretty good.

Looks good. It will be interesting to see Chris Pine in another role besides Kirk. That's all I have seen him in so far.

Just when you thought zombies were done and vampires were coming back, they . . . . well . . . . rose from the dead.

I liked the trailer which is why I went off to read up about it. Technically, 28 Days Later isn't a zombie movie either - they're alive and infected. Theoretically a cure could be found, or the pandemic waited out.
If the rest of Carriers is as good as the trailer, it should be a really good horror movie.
If all the best bits are in the trailer, then it could be more like NL's Vacation meets The Omega Man. :p
I'm rooting for the former. (Though the latter could be... interesting) :D

Looks pretty great to me. I'm really excited now. I bet the trailer will be attached with Orphan this week.

It looks good to me. It seems Chris Pine is the pro/antagonist. Being the hero, but becoming the villain towards the end. I like that most of the characters are young. Christopher Meloni doesn't hurt either. SVU rocks.

Hasn't this thing been in production hell for the longest time?

wow, looked suprisingly good. I say that because I read that paramount didn't have plans to release the film till after the whole Pine/trek fame. Most often when that happens it's because the film is not that good, but they don't want to pass up on a chance to capitalize on an opportunity like Pines recent success. So far the trailer does look pretty good and a bit different than the whole zombie angle.

Yeah, looks like they have been holding on to it for the sake of Chris Pine's recent fame.
I just cant get excited about this film at all. The whole story/premise has already been done and I would be shocked if they could do it better than 28 Days Later.
I am probably skipping it unless I hear good buzz about it.

I think Chris Pine is confusing people... Yeah, Star Trek was fucking awesome and his Kirk was fucking awesome but this Carriers looks like complete generic, teenage thriller/horror movie of the month, fluff.
The movie was made before Star Trek was even a thought in anyone's head and I'm guessing it's release was suppressed--by Paramount, it's distributor--when Trek got rolling and someone thought "This Pine kid might actually prove to be a star... this wait until after Trek to release this garbage."
I mean, you can't really know but looking at the situation, it seems like that's the case.
This doesn't look like a great follow up for Pine.
