Is there any good reason why this feels like a Funny or Die sketch parodying the Saw movies?

Wow, it seems that the quality has really gone up in this series.
This looks awful.

I'm actually looking forward to this. Saw is one of my favorite movies, and I liked the sequels. So I can't wait to see this, I might even see it in theaters.

The teaser trailer certainy raised my interest. I like the fact that it feels different and it doesn't give too much away. Trailers these days give everything away.

Clip was shitty. The poster looks good. I don't expect much from this franchise after part III. This is the last Saw I'll be watching.

I'm pretty sure they will only make one Saw movie named Saw VI.

Clip was ok. Hopefully this will make up for Saw V, which is easily the worst in the series so far.

That clip was actually, suprisingly pretty good. It was incredibly intense and didn't seem to have the annoying camera movement that often ruins the tension of these scenes.
I actually thought Saw V was okay. To me, Saw III and IV were the weakest in the franchise. Especially IV. At least III worked whenever the focus was on Jigsaw and Amanda. Plus, I liked the theme of forgiveness and letting go. It's just too bad it was poorly written and acted (other than Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith both of whom were solid) and incredibly repetative.

I love all the hate these films draw. As if the makers went around killing everyone's family. People are personally offended that these keep coming out every year. I love it.

its ridiculous. at least some of the traps are creative, they are less than an hour and a half and you dont have to see them. Meanwhile people get raging boners for Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween, or a new Freddy, or the 45th zombie flick with the same storyline, like those just HAVE to be made. I dont want to look like a Saw apologist, but it's really a joke how worked up people get over these, like they dont expect it to happen every October.

I've seen all the Saw movies once and only once. All in theaters. Won't stop now.

Shamefully, so have I. They are the equivalent of a Whopper. Convenient, simple, easy to consume.
I'll see this then pretend I was watching something far more challenging.

I actually think they've become a sort of Halloween attraction. Like a lame ass haunted house that people go to every year because it's there and what else are you gonna do for Halloween? I hate the franchise, but I can't hate on the simple-but-perfect business model.

havnt read the rest of the thread, so forgive me if this is a retread of another post
Saw has a story that underlines each flick... and that is what keeps me going back, i just know that it is building up to something... and i must admit that the past 2-3 flicks have done really nothing to move forward to the ultimate mind blowing finale that i hope to god happens, an ending that will make you go through EACH film, no matter how many there are and say "Holy shit, that is why this happened, that is why that happened" and with that, it keeps me going back to see these movies and be immersed in the story. Hopefully that is what is happening and it isnt turning into this generations Halloween;/ Friday The 13th franchise with just pointless sequels that dont advance that singular story.
all that and the kills are creative!

Good to see there's another Saw fan on these boards.
I'm going to Halloween Horror Nights tomorrow night and one of the first things I'll be visiting is the Saw attraction.
Prey I come out of it alive!

They are a fun Halloween tradition for me. Quality dipped very sharply in number 4. Slight upturn in 5. I hope 6 returns to the level of 1, 2, and 3.
