Ditto!

I cannot wait for the new album. I'm a big fan of Muse. I'm really looking forward to hearing the last three tracks, which I've heard is an epic symphony.

Are they turning prog now or something? Does anyone have track lengths, I wanna know how long that 3 part song is.

Something tells me they would make a great prog band. They've tested the waters of prog a little bit with some records, but I would love to see them go full out on it. As far as the new single goes, I like it but it's too Queen for me. And I fucking hate Queen.

It's not that good... reminds me of Dr. Who. How disappointing.

I've heard "Uprising" and "United States of Eurasia" and I have to say I'm very disappointed in both songs, especially Uprising. I hope these are two of the few subpar songs that have on their albums because they don't give me much hope for this one. I think they may have unfortunately peaked with Absolution.

I just found the video for this immediately after hearing the beginning to Uprising and now that I see the comments it looks like I'm not the only one who heard it

Absolution is a good album, but looses ALL of the steam the first half produced and plods along for the last 6 songs. I think Black Holes and Revelations will forever be their big album.

I don't agree. Absolution is a great album, and I love most of the final six tracks -- "Blackout", "Thoughts of a Dying Atheist", "Butterflies and Hurricanes", and "Ruled By Secrecy".

Honestly, I love Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations, but there's a part of me that wants to say the relentlessly dark, chaotic, trippy Origin of Symmetry is Muse's best album.

Anyway...

I've listened to both tracks, "Uprising" and "United States of Eurasia", and I'm very pleased with both. I like them both quite a bit, especially Eurasia, which is very Queen-ish (I don't mind myself, because I love Queen).

I'm very excited about the album.

I listened to the first 3 songs and they all kinda sucked.

^^^

Yikes...

I seriously hope I don't feel the same way about The Resistance. I've only listened to "Uprising" and "United States of Eurasia," both of which I really digged. I refuse to listen to another track until I have the album in my hands.

I'm still looking forward to it. Just a few more days to go!

I love all their previous albums (especially Black Holes and Revelations) but The Resistance is a dud IMO.

Listened to this twice, usually there will be a song or two I enjoy but nothing came close. Complete snoozefest.

I like it. The songs are long, but never boring in my opinion. I feel like those songs that I'm not too crazy about on first listen will grow on me just like 'Uprising' and 'USOE' have. I love 'Resistance' and 'Undisclosed Desires' though. I'm really surprised by all the negative comments here.

I was in, of all places, a doctors' surgery last night when I Belong to You/Mon Cœur S'ouvre à ta Voix was premiered on Radio 1. I made a joke about it sounding like Muse singing a Jacques Breil song - yeah, nobody laughed - and then Zane Lowe said it was the new Muse track.

What a load of shite.

They've peaked. Expect a Jazz album: the last bastion of the terminal artistic decline.

Save for the single, I really love this album. I dont really get all the hate....but then again I would consider myself a casual Muse fan, being that the only album of theirs that I have heard all the way through is Black Holes and Revelations. Those last three tracks are amazing.

I finally listened to The Resistance, and I absolutely love it. It's just as good, if not better than Black Holes and Revelations, and it's tied with The Dead Weather's debut album, Horehound, as my favorite album of 2009 (thus far). I don't know if I'd say The Resistance is favorite Muse album, but nevertheless, they keep getting better and better as musicians, and they continue to experiment with different things, like the jazzy "I Belong To You" and the epic three-part symphony "Exogenesis." Another aspect of The Resistance that I love is its cinematic feel -- this album should be the soundtrack for an epic sci-fi action/romance picture. I've been listening to The Resistance non-stop, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Favorite Tracks:

- "Exogenesis" (the most audacious thing Muse has ever done, and they pull it off brilliantly)
- "Uprising"
- "United States Of Eurasia"
- "Undisclosed Desires" (this would make for a great nightclub song)
- "I Belong To You"
- "Unnatural Selection" (this particular track reminds me of Muse's second album, Origin Of Symmetry)

I've listened to the album a few times and it's growing on me. I think it's pretty good. My favorite track has to be Guiding Light. What a phenomenal song.
