I was on bluray.com tonight and saw in their recent news that the teenage mutant ninja turtles franchise was relased on blu. (btw this post is not about TMNT). I have been waiting for a release to do these guys justice and I knew this was it. Needless to say I was very excited as the page was loading and was wondering what bonuses and video quality scores it got.
OMGWTFBBQ???
Not only do they rate it the video quality among some of the more worse tranfers to HD, but the bonus content seemed Non existant. It seems to me the only thing it had going for it was the cover art, which seemed cool.
So why are so many films and film franchises getting the stiff when it comes to new releases, ESPECIALLY on blu?? There was a time not too long ago that when a movie was released on blu, you not only expected amazing quality, but a buttload of bonus content.
Will studios ever give the less deserving titles their spot in the sun? I'm sure when it comes to turtles, they have a plenty of bonus stuff they could put in there. The same can be said to the blu relase of king kong (2005). What a crock. Te film looked stupendous, but knowing all of the the content available to that film, and seeing NONE of it on there, is inexcusable.
Anyone else feel my pain on this, lol? I'm just curious why studios won't put some decent amount of cash behind a property like turtles, knowing there's a fan base, and seeing a greater return in profit.
You have to spend money to make money...
