Dude was a genius and a visionary. Pioneer of the electric guitar. Cool guy to boot. I regret I didn't see any of his shows in NYC.

The guy lived to be 94. Almost a century. I think that's cool. I feel it's not as sad when somebody goes out after having lived so long and accomplished a lot with their life.
Hats off to the man who helped pioneer many things in the electric guitar.

He invented the first multi-track recorder. Think of what music would be like today without that. Revolutionary genius.

Ah, man.
My dad's band were rehearsing/playing tonight - they do a live jam session and get all the younger artists to come on stage and do a turn - and they did a heavy version of Vaya Con Dios as a tribute. (One of the young dudes who got up to play was given my dad's old Les Paul 'cos he only had a cheap Fender - his face lit up!).
Guy gave my dad a career.
Sorely missed.

This is somewhat sad, but he lived a full and rich life. That's something to be happy for, at least.
I had a Les Paul guitar, but sold it. Not to sleight the man, I just like more access in the upper register. ;)

Oh, he lived his life, no doubt. I just regret not seeing him before he died. NYC's only a 2 hour drive.

Les is responsible for the current state of the art studio/recording process as well as a major innovator of guitar effects. The musician/ recording artist part of Les Paul's career is obvious.
