I just saw Role Models today (which was pretty funny) and he was in it. I was like REALLY? This fucking guy is in just about every comedy these days. I am really starting to get sick of this guy.
It seems like I cant escape this dude. He keeps popping up in every comedy I have seen.
Would it hurt if these directors got some different actors once and awhile? Maybe mix it up a bit?
It looks like he wont be stopping anytime soon, I saw him in the trailer for Couples Retreat and All About Steve (both coming out this year).

-Enter actor's name here-'s career is going well, let's trash him for it!:mad::mad:

Ken Jeong is hilarious and is a great comedic supporting actor. He's also a doctor in real life.

I would agree with this rant about over using a comic actor and ruining him that way... If you didn't pick the one movie where he played the most hilarious character I've seen him as.

I wonder if there was a point of time where everyone started getting sick of Bill Murrey, Dan Aykroyd and the like back in the 80's. Sigh...

He has 4 supporting roles in 2009 - hardly a mid-90s Sam Jackson.

well, I thought he had a hilarous part in Hangover and he might be funny in Goods.

I always like when he shows up in movies. He's a reliably funny supporting actor.

Kind of a silly rant. There are several people (men and women) in the Apatow crew that are all in a bunch of comedies these days. I would think this is a good thing, since they happen to be funny people.

I find usually him hilarious, though what I didn't find hilarious was his part on WWE Raw with JP, He was just damn annoying.

I've been noticing this myself but I don't mind all that much because the dude is pretty damn funny. I loved him in Knocked UP when I 1st saw him and really liked his spot in The Hangover.

I see what you are saying (inregards to the Seth Rogen thread) but those arent my intentions
I hate to be hater but I would maybe like some variety in comedies especially.
Is it nessacary that this guy plays every Asian role? I mean, there are literally millions of them, maybe give another asian guy a chance.;)

Yeah, one problem with that. there aren't that much established asian comdians. so maybe that is why he is offered the part?

I'm actually pretty sure that a lot of his roles weren't even written as Asian, he was just the funniest guy for the part...
Sure, it's easy to say "he get's all the Asian roles!" after fact when the roles become Asian when he plays them, but how many of them do you know were written that way?

Likely few. Out of the roles I mentioned that I liked of him, only his role in The Hangover was likely meant for an Asian comedian, and even that could have just been improv by him...Anyone could have fit the role he got for Knocked Up and Role Models. But he was just the funniest of the lot I imagine.

dont have much new to say... other than i am a huge fan and was impressed that he gained his fame by being named the funniest doctor in america... and he was/is a Family Practice Doctor in North Carolina i believe it is!
I enjoy seeing him in all these flicks these days!

This is true for most of the actors who tend to pop up in Judd Apatow projects. It's almost become a rule that you have to use an Apatow guy if you're making a comedy.
e.g. Craig Robinson in Night at the Museum 2. Was there really no one else who could've uttered his five lines or so? No one else needs the work more?

I hope the Apatow crew continues to make comedies for a looong time, they make the best I've seen in years. I remember that Farrelly Brothers "comedies" phase back in 1999-2004...they were horrible.

The Farrelly phase was 1994-2000. And I would hardly call them horrible. Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, There's Something About Mary, and Me, Myself & Irene. Those are all great comedies in my opinion.

This guy was my favorite part of the trailer for the used car salesmen movie.

Didn't see the Jeremy Piven movie, where the bit Davey mentions is funny but otherwise I'd add the following key line to your rant:
"And is grating, obnoxious, a bad actor, and the opposite of funny."
He sucked in Knocked Up, ruining the scenes he was in with his bizarre and unfunny performance, and was the only part of The Hangover I didn't like, in fact I actually hated his scenes and nonsensically outlandish character. He goes way over-the-top in everything he does and it totally drags the movies he's in down.
The problem isn't just that he's in everything, but that he makes everything he's in crappier.

It does seem like he's everywhere, and I honestly can't stand him.
His characters are never funny, he has never made me laugh at all, and he seems like he is simply the go-to guy for the "stereotypical Asian" role.
I hate his presence in all the movies I've seen him in, as well as all the trailers I've seen of his coming out.
I agree.
